In other words, this avant-garde desk lamp can detect and track natural daylight in its surroundings and brilliantly transforms it to provide us with the best lighting needs.

This is the format of lighting that I use the most with my Dyson Solarcycle Morph Desk Light. If you require specialised illumination, this is the type of lighting you should select. When I want to watch something on Netflix and enjoy my late-night supper, I will activate Ambient Light to set the mood right.

The Magic Behind Dyson Solarcyle Morph Desk Light

If you ask me, this desk lamp from Dyson is really magical. This is especially evident when you activate the Ambient Light mode! The unbelievably Intelligent Optical Head with 360° maneuverability is attached to the stem. The stem is machined to a depth of 0.7mm and made from extruded aluminium to provide a unique combination of excellent impact resistance and smooth, light motion. The micro perforations produce a delicate gradient in the illuminated look, and the high reflecting surface within the aluminium core facilitates the light's perfect passage down the stem. To say the least, this sounds really incredible!

The two ultra-thin exposed cables go through the centre of the Dyson Solarcycle Morph with a nearly transparent look. These wires, which are crimped at both ends under high tension, power the optical head in a nearly unnoticeable manner, so achieving a 360-degree, unbroken lighting effect on the stem. When docked as ambient light, the stem emits a soothing orange glow and may be customised for a restful evening by reducing the amount of damaging blue light. On the dock, a color-warming orange filter produces the warmest light levels by decreasing the colour temperature from 2,700K to 1,800K, simulating the hue of candlelight.

Turn On Precision Mode

When the Precision Mode is activated on the Dyson Solarcycle Morph, a colour rendering index of at least 90 (out of 100) is achieved. In precision mode, the desk lamp will exhibit colours that are very close to those of daylight. When I draw something and colour it or while my children are doing some crafts, everything appears to be more realistic in this setting. Precision mode enhances visual performance by emitting a pool of high-intensity light with a lower colour temperature (4,600 Kelvin). If you are an artist, then this is the desk lamp for you.

Do you know that the older you get, the more light you will need? Thanks to MyDyson app, you can personalize your Dyson Solarcycle Morph Desk Light. The brightness of the light can be automatically changed in accordance with your age. This is made possible thanks to the Age Adjust mode. So the older you are, the brighter the light will be. The study, Relax, Precision, Boost, Wake-up, Sleep, and Away are the preset modes available.
