Building on the core technologies of the Dyson Lightcycle task light which was launched back in 2019, the Dyson Lightcycle Morph has the incredible ability to emulate some of the properties of natural light in multiple different formats. Using Dyson’s unique Daylight Tracking algorithm and 3 warm, 3 cool LEDs, the Dyson Lightcycle Morph can continually adjust its colour temperature and brightness in relation to local daylight. Wow! This on-the-fly adaptability provides the right light for the time of day depending on your location. How cool is that right?

The 4 Different Forms of Dyson Lightcycle Morph Light:

1. Indirect Light

When you use Dyson Lightcyle Morph as indirect light, the intelligent optical head will smoothly rotate 360° to bounce light off walls, floors and ceilings. This way, you will be able to enjoy natural light indirectly.

2. Task Light

If you need dedicated lighting then this is the form of light you should choose. Task Light will be ideal for a focused, powerful light for work, hobbies, make-up applications and of course intricate tasks as well. Rest assured that Lightcycle Morph is engineered to help you reduce your eye strain and improve visual performance especially when you are in the midst of a visually demanding task.

3. Feature Light

If you are looking for a light that can elevate your artwork, then you should switch to Feature Light. In this mode, the light can create dramatic effects, highlighting art, colours and decorative features of your masterpieces. The breathtaking 3-Point Revolve motion enables precise positioning that will definitely be useful for your creative outlets.

4. Ambient Light

This is certainly one of my favourite forms for Dyson Lightcycle Morph. The stem lights up to create a soothing, orange glow that will not only be pleasing to the eyes but also set a comforting ambience around it. For a relaxed evening with reduced blue light, just turn on this ambient light. Besides, it is quite romantic, no?

The Versatile Dyson Lightcycle Morph Light

Honestly, I am still baffled by the design and features of this latest light from Dyson. The ambient stem demonstrates that form does not just follow function, but the two disciplines working in tandem to conjure the kind of light that we have never seen before. The Dyson Lightcycle Morph is designed around a distinct aluminium-polycarbonate composite stem, rotationally perforated with 16,740 apertures.

The soothing and mesmerizing orange glow from the ambient stem

Mounted on the stem is an unbelievably Intelligent Optical Head with 360° manoeuvrability. The stem is machined to a depth of just 0.7mm and formed of extruded aluminium to deliver a unique balance of high impact resistance and smooth light travel. The micro apertures create a soft gradient to the lit effect and the highly reflective surface inside the aluminium core aids a flawless travel of light down the length of the stem. This sounds really mind-boggling, to say the least!

Warming and Comforting like candlelight, right?

With an almost transparent aesthetic, the two ultra-thin exposed cables run through the centre of the Dyson Lightcycle Morph. Clamped at both ends under extreme tension, these cables power the optical head in an almost invisible manner - thus achieving a 360°, uninterrupted lit effect on the stem. When docked as an ambient light, the stem then lights up to create a comforting, orange glow and can be personalized for a relaxing evening with a further reduction of harmful blue light. A colour warming orange filter on the dock then creates the warmest light levels, reducing the colour temperature down further from 2,700K to 1,800K, emulating the colour of candlelight.

Dyson’s heat pipe technology draws heat away from the LEDs to provide a non-stop, energy-free cooling cycle, maintaining light quality for a staggering 60 years. Yes! You read it right folks! This Dyson Lightcycle Morph Light can last up to 6 decades and you might not even need to replace it again in your lifetime. Heck, I can already imagine my grandchildren using this Lightcyle Morph.

The Light That Reduces Eye Strain

We all are aware that low light, flicker and glare can result in eye strain and visual fatigue. The Dyson Lightcycle Morph is the light engineered to help reduce eye strain effectively and at the same time improve our visual performance. The aforementioned Intelligent Optical Head produces a uniform distribution of high-quality, powerful light while achieving a low flicker score of less than 1% at full brightness thanks to custom drivers and light engines.

Precision Mode

When you switch on the Precision Mode for your Dyson Lightcycle Morph, a colour rendering index of 90 or over (out of 100) is achieved, displaying colours very close to daylight. In this mode, fine drawing, make-up applications, painting or crafts appear truer-to-life. Precision mode helps improve visual performance by emitting a pool of high-intensity light with a cooler (4,600 Kelvin) colour temperature.

Personalised & Connected Light

According to research, a 65-year old needs up to four times more light compared to a 20-year old youth. So thanks to Age Adjust, the Dyson Lightcycle Morph corrects brightness based on the age entered into the Dyson Link app, meaning that the older the user, the brighter the light. The Dyson Lightcycle Morph has pre-set modes: Study, Relax, Precision, Boost, Wake-up, Sleep and Away. It also has manual control with slide-touch dimming and colour temperature selection to define personal light preferences. It’s possible to pre-programme and assign names for up to 20 different light settings, to suit the task or mood.
