The brand new year of 2022 is here and like you, I have not really achieved all of the 9 new year's resolutions that I have set last year. Hence, it will be more or least the same for me in 2022. How about you? So today I am going to share the top 10 most common new year's resolutions that we will usually set at the beginning of the year. Let's see how many of these match yours.

1. Exercise More

One of the top 10 most common new year's resolutions has got to be about exercise, right? Chances are that you want to sweat more and clock in more workouts for health and aesthetic purposes. Then again, being able to exercise more also mean spending more time doing what you enjoy like playing basketball or football. Perhaps you do exercise but not often. So start increasing your frequency and intensity!

2. Lose Weight

Just like exercising more frequently, a lot of us wish to lose weight either to be healthier or to look more attractive and desirable. To lose weight does not necessarily mean you will be a gym rat or a marathoner. Losing weight is more about your lifestyle choices such as your diet.

3. Get Organized

Pause and look around you. If you feel that your house, your office table or your bedroom is so messy, then it is time to de-clutter. Of course being organized means getting everything in an orderly manner in your life be it your house, relationship or perhaps re-arranging all the files in your computer. Ultimately, being more organized will no doubt help you to be more productive and efficient.

4. Learn a New Skill

If you have not already picked up a new skill during this pandemic, then you had better start learning a new one soon. Ideally, I would recommend you to learn a new skill that helps you to earn money. It will be better doing something that you like that pays, no? Of course, learning a new skill than expanding your horizon and making you feel relaxed is also equally beneficial.

5. Make More Money

If you still thinking about saving money or spending less money as your new year's resolutions, then most probably you only need to learn about budgeting and sticking to it. Otherwise, making more money will be the more ideal new year's resolution. Want to buy a new, fancy dress? Think of how you can make more money instead of just tightening your belt to save money to buy something. Making more money can actually mean you have to acquire a new skill that can be profitable.

6. Quit a Bad Habit

It is undeniable that each and every one of us has this nagging bad habit that refuses to part ways with us. So pick habits that are detrimental to your health to quit. Smoking, indulging in unhealthy food and slurping sugar-high beverages are some of the bad habits you should stop enjoying or at least try to limit them. Find yourself spending too much time playing online games or browsing social media feeds? Use apps to help you with your cut-off time. 7. Spend More Time With Family and Close Friends

By now you should know that life is fickle. Many of us have seen our family members of close friends succumb to the pandemic in the span of 2 years. So cherish your family and friends who matter to you. Time and tide wait for no one and before you know it, your clock is the one that is ticking. So stop taking things for granted.

8. Read More

Of course, this should be the counter to quitting a bad habit. Replace something negative with a positive one such as reading more voraciously. The more you read, the more you will learn. In fact, reading can help you do many things such as making more money, picking up a new skill and even letting you learn from the experiences of others. Literally, reading is the key to the various new year's resolutions that you aim to achieve.

9. Travel More

Many of us have been deprived of travelling ever since the Covid-19 virus has started to terrorize our world. Lockdowns and restrictions mean that travelling is no longer something common that all of us could enjoy. Hopefully, as vaccines get more effective against many strains of the virus, we can once again go travelling. I do wish I could go travelling with my family again. Where do you plan to visit?

10. Be Happier

Last but not least, no matter what is your new year's resolutions always strive to be happier. Remember that you always have a choice between being happy or sulky. Still holding grudges against those who have wronged you? Learn to forgive to set yourself free. Stop being envious of others and be grateful for what you have. Always smile and count your blessings.   1. All very good resolutions! I have never heard of anybody making one and successfully achieving it within the year though. I never made any resolution but I managed No. 6 last year. I quit smoking, cold turkey, just like that. Been puffing away since I was 20, 1973... Surprisingly, the X-ray did not look very bad but I was coughing quite a bit and I decided to stop.

    1. Good to hear that nothing happened to you after smoking for decades. I hope your family members were not affected by 2nd hand or even 3rd hand smoke. All in all, happy new year 2022 to you.
