The wicked envy and hate as this is their way of admiring. Imagine a sprinter running in full stride. He blazes through other contenders while looking over his shoulders. Instead of focusing on the finishing line, he trains his eyes on his rivals, being worried that they might end up ahead of him. So what will be the inevitable conclusion? Most probably he will be slowing down and tripped right? Ironically, that's what our life is if we allow the distraction of envy to dictate our mind as we run the race before our very eyes. Instead of shattering records, we will send ourselves stumbling if we are always green with envy.

Stop comparing yourself with others all the time!

Remember that being envious has never enriched any man or woman. In fact a person who covets will always end up poorer. Envy is like biting a stray dog because it bit you in the first place. If you want to have a clearer picture of what self-punishment looks like, then scrutinize this sentence, "Envy shoots at others and wounds herself!" Sounds just about RIGHT, right? Just like rust which erodes iron, envy consumes itself.

Of all the passions, jealousy is that
which exacts the hardest service and
pays the bitterest wages. Its service
is to watch the success of our enemy;
its wages, to be sure of it.
~Charles Caleb Colton~

When you envy others, you will drain every single drop of joy, satisfaction and purpose out of your very own living and even existence. Do not cultivate it as it will breed hideous hatred and vengeance. Revenge will only convert a little of right into massive wrong that cannot be undone. So be careful not to give in to an appetite that can never be satisfied! They say love is blind, but being envious is even more worse than being blind. Envy sees the beautiful petals but not the thorns.

Are you envious of others?

Uncontrolled desire will spiral into envy that will ravage you. Sometimes we underrate or exaggerate what we do not possess. It is very amusing to note that some people seem to know how to live everybody's lives but their own. Envy is like hoping the others to be "less" than who you are. It is a ridiculous waste of time and mental energy and eventually it will be the root of most of your unhappiness. Proverbs counsels, "A relaxed attitude lengthens a man's life; Jealousy rots it away". Your life is too valuable to waste through wanting what others have.

We need to stop this toxic mentality!

When an envious man hears another praised, he feels himself injured.
~English Proverb~

It is to wake up and stop being envious at others. It is wise not to long for the things one doesn't have and instead be grateful for the things one does. If you incessantly compare what you want with what you have, you will be miserable forever. Why don't you compare what you deserve with what you have, and in no time you will be ecstatic for sure. Always count your blessings and appreciate them. Remember that envy is too great a burden to bear and it is unnecessary!
