The day you guys have anticipated for almost a year is finally here folks. It is Chinese New Year again. Nests after nests of rabbits will be taking over our homes starting from today...at least for 15 days. It is the year of the Rabbit. I hope this year, the docile rabbit will bring in more prosperity and of course happiness to all of us. I know some Feng Shui grandmasters have already foresee that there will be natural disasters, disease outbreaks etc just to name a few. But I really hope they are wrong. I am sure we will be seeing a healthy, vibrant rabbit hopping around this year. Ha :D

It is the time your home will be red again! :)

So how's your Chinese New Year celebration so far folks? As you guys know this year it will be a different one for me as I am now a daddy and that means...I am giving ang pow for the first time in this rabbity year. Our baby Jordan is the one who will be receiving the "prosperous" red packets from now onwards. Now he is the "banker".

Huat~ar!

Chinese New Year is finally here right? My family's Chinese New Year celebration started weeks before today. We had to do lots of preparation, spring cleaning and shopping to usher this new year. Then yesterday we prayed our ancestors and our late mommy just like what we always do. Then later in the evening we had our family reunion dinner back at our home. It had been tiring but we really enjoyed it.

May we always be safe with your blessing God of Land. :)

Later at midnight...which is this morning-12:01a.m., my family and I started praying the Gods to signify the arrival of Chinese New Year. So did you guys offered prayers too this morning? :) I have always loved this tradition of ours. How about you? I stayed awake right up to 5a.m. this morning. Did you guys stay awake to usher the new rabbit year? You see there are 2 reasons why I try not to turn in early on the first day of Chinese New Year:

Part of our "offerings" for the guests. :p

1~The longer you stay awake the healthier and longer your parents will live. I am not sure if it is true but I don't mind getting less sleep if that means my daddy will be bless with longevity. After all when I was young, he must have tonnes of sleepless nights because of me. :p
2~To activate the good stars. Since last year, I have followed Foongpc's advice to activate my good stars for a prosperous year...which worked magically. So this morning from 3a.m. right up to 5a.m. I was busy activating the 3 different sectors in my home: Wealth (South), Nobility (Southwest) and Happiness (Northeast). Did you activate yours?

Our bucketful of rice. Huat~ar! Ha :D

I had 3 hours of sleep and then all of us were on the road already. We visited our aunties and uncles. It is good to visit our relatives and chit chat with them. This year's Chinese New Year is not only special for my wife and I...but it is more meaningful for my daddy. For the first time in his life, my daddy celebrates this year's Chinese New Year as a grandpa. He was beaming the whole day. Don't worry daddy, you will have more grandchildren soon. LOL :D

Little Jordan & grandpa. :)

Well...that's all from me for now. I hope all of you are enjoying your Chinese New Year. Remember Chinese New Year is not about hanging out with your friends, watching movies etc., instead Chinese New Year is all about bonding with your family especially your parents. I have always believed that nothing is more important than our mommy, daddy, brothers and sisters. Spend quality time with your family and show them your love.
