Today brings with it a reason for a colossal celebration-my son’s 13th birthday! It feels like only yesterday I was in the labour room to welcome my firstborn and now he is 13 years old. As I pen down my thoughts and feelings on this special occasion, my heart swells with pride and gratification. It’s this day that marks his transcendence into the exciting realm of adolescence. But still deep down inside of me, he will always be my baby.

From the moment he was born, he has been nothing short of a blessing. His radiant smiles have been our sunshine and his tears, though rare, our rain. This tiny bundle of joy who once fit snugly in my arms has grown so remarkably over the years. Today, he stands tall (hopefully he will be taller than me soon) with an impressive set of achievements trailing behind him.

His journey from toddlerhood to teenhood has been one filled with enriching moments. The hours spent together playing football in our backyard, building intricate Lego models, reading bedtime stories or simply watching our favourite animes on repeat - these are memories we both cherish dearly. Each moment of shared laughter and learning is a thread that binds us closer together.

His accomplishments make me beam with pride as well. An all-rounder at school academically, excelling in almost all subjects (except Mandarin 😂). He has achieved what I could not have done during his age - there couldn’t be a more proud father today!

The birthday celebrations today promise much joyousness! We made sure our dining table was filled with plenty of food that he likes to indulge in from McDonald's nuggets to Domino's pizzas. Of course, we did not forget to order Nasi Lemak Mekdi, McDonald's burgers and Satays just to name a few. We also had our must-have traditional red eggs which signify wellbeing and prosperity. We’ve also ensured that each gift reflects his personality perfectly – from his latest passion for die-cast cars to reading books!
