4 Reasons Why I Am Too Busy Since The Start of 2023

How has your new year of 2023 been? Mine is absolutely hectic! Here are 4 reasons why I am too busy since the start of 2023.

Never have I had such a busy start to the new year as 2023. The pace has been really fast and my schedule has been really tight, and jam-packed with various workloads. More importantly, my hands are full as I need to attend to my children as well. How about you guys? How has your start to the year 2023 been?

4 Reasons Why I Am Too Busy Since The Start of 2023

1. Extra Extra Task

I was asked to stand in for another colleague to fill a vacant role as there was supposedly no other candidate AT ALL! I enquired a few times and they promised me that they had no other choice. To give them the benefit of the doubt, I agreed to accept the extra task. To my dismay, that was utterly a mere fabrication. Guess that's how the world has always worked! 😂

If I am required to help carry out a task, just tell me directly without blindfolding me with half-truths. This will be a year-long project and it will really "lock up" a lot of my time. A bit of dissatisfaction and frustration aside, I am a man of honour and I will fulfill my tasks to my fullest capabilities once I have started it. After all, I am answerable to all my clients. I am going to do my best!

2. My Second Primary Career

Besides, my current primary career I do have another primary career in the work which I hope will come to fruition very soon. This second primary career of mine will allow me to do what I have always wanted to do-charity. I will have the opportunity to lend a helping hand to those who need it. A lot of preparation, research, and time will be needed and that is why I barely have any time left for any virtual version of myself. Then again, I am really looking forward to playing this new role in my life.

3. School Final Examination

Another main reason why I have been in MIA mode is that my children are currently sitting for their Final Examination in primary school before the beginning of the new school calendar year. This standardised exam started right after the school reopens, leaving us with only a little time to do all our revision.

Every evening after their dinner, Jordan and Jasmine need to start doing their revision. My wife and I  are by their sides all the time as usual to help them out with their revision. It is like us giving them extra tuition and pointers for them to do well in their respective exams. I really pity my 2 big babies as they need to burn the midnight oil to ensure their preparations are complete.

4. Chinese New Year Comes Too Early

If you are celebrating Chinese New Year, you probably have been very busy just like me. Apart from spring cleaning the house, we also need to buy food such as abalone, delicacies, and clothes just to name a few to usher in the new lunar year. Besides cleaning our home thoroughly, we also need to restock our fridges to the brim with meat, fish, vegetables, and all those usual Chinese New Year goodies. And I need to prune my Buddhist pine and mow my carpet grass as well. 😁

All in all, we have not been able to catch our breath since the start of 2023. Hopefully, everything will sort of slow down a bit for us next week. But then again, it will be the Chinese New Year next week. Ha 😂 Guess we will still be busy for the time being. How about you guys? Have you been busy as well?
