Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro were officially unveiled 2 months ago and now they are available globally (officially) no thanks to the delay brought by Covid-19. Still it is better late than never right? These two latest smartphones from Xiaomi represent a milestone or sort as they kind off signify that Xioami is now competing against Samsung, Apple and Huawei in the big, premium league as well. Can these two flagships wrestle some of the market shares from their rivals? So far it is a YES.
Xiaomi Mi 10
The so-called basic or regular Mi 10 will have a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display with a punch-hole on the top left corner. The gorgeous display boasts 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and 180Hz touch-sensing. Under the hood, the vanilla Xiaomi Mi 10 will be powered by SnapDragon 865 processor paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. As for internal storage, you get to choose between the 128GB model or the 256GB model. Unfortunately there is no external storage option which is a bummer.
There is a 20MP front-facing camera for your selfies and the rear cameras are made up of quad-camera setup. The 4 cameras that will be gracing your images will be a 108MP Wide camera, 13MP UltraWide camera, 2MP Macro lens and 2MP depth sensor. Mi 10 will be powered by a 4780 mAh battery which supports 30W fast-charging as well as 30W wireless charging. Out of the box, this latest flagship from Xiaomi will be running MIUI 11. Mi 10 will be available in 2 different colours namely Twilight Grey and Coral Green.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro
In terms of display, Mi 10 Pro shares the same 6.67-inch Full HD+ display with its sibling. So you will also be able to enjoy the 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and 180HZ touch-sensing. The main difference between Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro is in terms of RAM and storage configurations. The 3 variants of Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro are:
Mi 10 Pro 8GB RAM + 256GB Storage
Mi 10 Pro 12GB RAM + 256GB Storage
Mi 10 Pro 12GB RAM + 512GB Storage
It makes perfect sense to opt for the most advanced configuration of 12GB of RAM plus 512GB of internal UFS 3.0 storage as you cannot enjoy the luxury of expandable storage. So if you have the means, always go for the best.
The front-facing camera on Mi 10 Pro is the same as the one found in Mi 10. Flip it to the back and you will have a more advanced camera setup compared to the basic Mi 10. The more premium rear Penta-Cameras on Mi 10 Pro are 108MP Wide camera, 8MP Telephoto camera, 12MP Portrait camera and a 20MP UltraWide lens. On top of that you will get Laser AutoFocus, OIS, 10X Hybrid Zoom and 2X Optical Zoom. On paper, the Quad-Camera setup on Mi 10 Pro is really awesome to say the least, meaning that you will be able to take stunning photos with it.
Interestingly, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro sports a smaller battery of 4,500 mAh compared to Mi 10. However this is compensated by the fact that it supports a mind-blowing 50W fast charging and 30W wireless fast charging. Guess you will not need to be plugged to the wall all the time. Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro will be available in 2 different colours as well namely Alphine White and Solstice Grey.
