The moment we stepped into the huge dining hall, we were warmly greeted by the waitresses who helped us to be seated. Soon enough we began to feel right at home and we started our gastronomic journey in Christmas wonderland. We were awestruck when we saw the glorious spread of scrumptious food right before our eyes. To say that the food was beautiful and delicious is truly an understatement. Honestly speaking I felt like I was in an art exhibition, with displays of mouth-watering dishes that will surely make you hungry.

Of course, no Christmas dinner buffet is complete without the must-have roasted turkey right? The executive chef explained that the whole turkey was marinated and brined overnight so that the juice and flavour of the turkey can be retained. When he sliced open the turkey for us, the whiff of delectable aroma instantly permeated the air, making us drool. The baby chicken with raisin, herb and mushroom sauce was also very tasty and flavoursome. I love sinking my teeth into the lamb shank varuval which was spicy and very appetizing.

Let's indulge in some exotic desserts 

Beef lovers will rejoice at the sight of the grilled herb crusted striploin beef. It was cooked to perfection. Those who love seafood will fall in love with the baked squid ala provencal which was chewy and ambrosial. Those who want something more traditional will be happy to know that Asam Pedas Kepala Merah was available. Head over to the noodle station if you want to sample something more common to you: pick your noodles and add any ingredients that you like. Besides Hainanese Chicken Rice, you can also enjoy bread and kerabu dishes. Want something more familiar? There were also satays with chunks of tender chicken meat that will make you yearn for more.

After we had had enough of the main dishes, it was time to fill our tummies with desserts. If you thought that the main courses were awesome, wait till you see all the desserts. From Snowmen to Christmas log cake, there will be something dainty for those with sweet tooth. The Christmas pudding, Entremest, Eclair and Chocolate Mud Cakes all deserved my special mention as well. Then at one corner on the Feast Table, you will get to see really exquisite desserts that will not only melt your heart but also excite your taste buds. Delight in the whimsical smoked salmon with melon balsamic oil and arugula salad; or you could try the avocado salad with spicy sesame tamari granola.

But it did have cinammon in it...the tasted so damn heavenly. I wanted my third glass...but yeah...

All in all,  my family and I really enjoyed our very first Christmas Buffet Dinner at DoubleTree Melaka. The ambience was so soothing and Christmassy, making us want to stay there as long as we could to enjoy the dinner. In fact, my family was one of the last ones to leave as we kept on helping ourselves with serving after serving of toothsome cuisines and desserts. We just can't resist good food and the chefs at DoubleTree Melaka had certainly made it even more difficult.
