Any idea why is this song called Swan Song and not Duck Song? Goose Song? Or even Chicken Song? For the uninitiated, swansong is actually derived from a legend whereby a swan is usually mute until moments before its death which it will sing a melodious song. That is why now a swan song or swansong is defined as a person's last piece of work or achievement.

Introducing Dua Lipa's Swan Song which is the inspiring anthem for the Alita Battle Angel movie. But before we even continue, why is this song called Swan Song and not Duck Song? Goose Song? Swan Song is co-written and sung by Dua Lipa who is a 2019 double Grammy nominee who is very famous for her song-New Rules. Thanks to her song which has helped her to rule the airwaves, she was chosen to be the de facto singer for Alita-Battle Angel's official song. She was handpicked producer Jon Landau for she exudes so much confidence, raw power and that defining attitude which is exactly what Alita embodies in the movie. Kick ass personality! If you have not watched the movie, you better do right now as the movie is best watched in the cinema where you can enjoy immersive sound quality.

Back to the music shall we? Directed by Floria Sigismondi, the music video of Swan Song is being staged in the exact settings of the movie Alita. Dua Lipa could be seen scavenging for parts and discarded items just underneath Zalem before being confronted by the enormous Centurion which is the "police" of Iron City. She then stood in front of the mirror, while executing some martial arts moves that Alita did in the movie. So basically Dua Lipa is Alita. Ha :D

So Dua Lipa has become Alita? :D

Yours truly me find this song really inspiring. I personally love the song as it is about anything BUT Swan Song. Ironic right? Basically the song empowers us to fight on and not to give up no matter how difficult and impossible the task appears to be. The lines, "This is not a Swan~Swan Song! We just gotta hold on tonight!" can really galvanize us especially when we are up against all odds, right? Of course the song is also about justice and not to turn a blind eye when your help and power are needed. Now do enjoy the song:

Do you like the song? I think it is one of the best songs to keep us going; To fight what seems to be insurmountable...to fire full cylinders and never ever give up no matter what! Released as a single on the 24th of January, Swan Song has been chalking rave reviews and is raiding charts all over the world with  a few number 1s under its belt already. Definitely this is not the last of Swan Song. :)
