During our last holiday back in my wife's hometown, we took the opportunity to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday earlier. His birthday was supposed to be next week, but we couldn't make it. So last Saturday night we went to Xin Kwai Lerk Seafood Restaurant to celebrate my father-in-law's Big Day. We were there for the same occasion last year. However there were 3 extra things during this birthday bash. Can you guess what are the 3 glistening additions to this birthday of my father-in-law? Read on to find out:

This is the second time Jordan celebrated his Ah Gong's Birthday. :)

So last Saturday evening, we arrived at Xin Kwai Lerk Seafood restaurant at around 7:30p.m. I guess. We were a bit late because it was raining so heavily that evening. When we reached there, we were surprised to know that some of our relatives (my wife's side) were present. Last year only my wife, my sister-in-law and little Jordan celebrated my father-in-law's Birthday. (1) So this time around there was more people. Yay! The more the merrier right?

So what did we have for our feeding frenzy?

Longevity noodle.

Prosperity Prawns.

Pork knuckles with Shi'itake mushrooms.

Fish.

and my favourite....Marmite Chicken! :D

We were all smiles as we seated ourselves and got accustomed with each other. A lot of catching up were done. We happily chit chat while waiting for our food to be served. The glorious food arrived moments later as we had booked our dishes earlier. All of us, including Jordan boy, were happily enjoying our feast except for one of us...can you guess? Yes...little Jasmine can only feast on the food with her eyes while sipping her milk. LOL :D So this is the second difference. (2) This year, there is another grandchild to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. :)

This year we have a new family member-Jasmine girl. :)

As the saying goes...to every beginning, there is an ending. And our ending was a good one indeed. Instead of living right after our feast, this time around we had something extra. (3) We bought Secret Recipe Tiramisu Cake to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. Woohoo! It's time for indulgence. All of us sang a birthday song for my father-in-law in front of the other restaurant patrons. Ha :D My father-in-law who was obviously very happy, closed his eyes and made a wish. He opened his eyes and smiled...off the candles we blown. And the rest of the night could be seen on his face. :)

So did we have a great time? Of course we did. Apart from the scrumptious food and heavenly Tiramisu cake...but the part we enjoyed the most was the quality time we spent together. It is all about bonding...those priceless moments that we would cherish forever. I hope that my wife, my babies and I can spend more time in Taiping. I really love this place. How I wish I can jut stay in this beautiful City of Rain. :D
