Well, the photo might be funny (or not), but it's a reminder that if we (our blogs) remain stationary we will lose "money"! We will be fined either by paying the parking meter or compounded by the policeman. Either way we still lose out. So as Bert Krose said: "A parking meter reminds us that we lose money standing still." So, it takes consistency to be a good blogger. Don't stop, just blog and blog and blog! If not we will be fined (deprived of traffic).
This post essentially want us to improve ourselves, our life everyday! The same apply to blogging right? If we stop blogging for a while, of course the streams traffic will dry off. Hence success comes from daring to take small baby steps. After being faithful in small steps, you'll look back and be able to say, "Well, I'm still not where I wanted to be, but I'm sure not where I used to be."
Victory is won not in miles but in inches. Win a little now, hold your hard-earned ground and later win a lot more. The same goes to blogging. I'm sure a few weakling beginner bloggers just like me will not get tonnes of traffic like Kenny Sia, BUT if we work really hard I'm sure we can be as good as the fella if not better! Trust me on this! =)
Dale Carnegie said, "Don't be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Everytime you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves." Your future comes one hour at a time. So are you willing to do something small? Small steps are a big idea. Never be discouraged when you make progress no matter how slow or small. Only be wary of standing still. Success are persons who do what they can with what they have. Don't be crestfallen if things happened not as you expected.
Everyone can be a good blogger. Only time will stand in your way. At times all your efforts might seem futile, but don't give up yet for if you want to finish the race first, you must first finish the race. One thing is certain: What isn't tried won't work. The most important thing is to begin, even though the 1st step is the hardest. Inches make champions. Take one small steps right now. Don't ignore the small things. The kite flies because of its tail. It's the little things that count.
Here's 3 small steps IMHO you can make your blog better!
1~Write Great Content
Besides writing post consistently, you content will also need to be:
(a)-Creative
(b)-Innovative
(c)-Diverse
2~Market Your Blog
It's important to let people know that you have a great blog to offer. Do you think MacDonald have the best burger? Nope! BUT they do have one of the best marketing. And that's why people is so crazy about McDonald (Heck! Even I can cook better burger).
(a)-Submit to search engine.
(b)-Aggregators (PPS etc.)
(c)-Pinger
3~Be Interactive
A few bells and whistles (gadgets etc) could be just the stuff you need to spice up your blog.
(a)-Gadgets
(b)-Chatbox
(c)-Polls
(d)-Contest
(e)-Ask For subscription.
