Nike has drawn inspiration from the year 2000 for their 2022 lifestyle retro. The Swoosh has decided to tap into the trendy Y2K aesthetic by bringing back the iconic Nike Air Kukini, aka the "Water" sneakers. This is a pair of beautiful shoes from the era of Y2K indeed. Now, "Water," one of its original hues, returns. This looks like Aquaman's brand new footwear!

In addition to its classic appearance, the Nike Air Kukini follows the slip-on trend. Using a laceless neoprene top, the "Water" colorway begins with a bright blue that mimics water's reflection, with light intertwining throughout. This is paired with the silhouette's trademark TPU cage, which appears in a transparent appearance, effectively emphasising the "Watery" theme while maintaining the Air Kukini's conventional form.

The Nike Air Kukini also sports soft nubuck in black to give the toe section that added limelight. The tongue and heel counter are also painted in black. This faithful retro reproduction is completed by the Air-infused sole unit that joins with the TPU cage and is dressed in white at the midsole and black at the visible Air unit and rubber outsole.
