Behold the first Malaysian-assembled Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric SUV with a price tag of RM262,460. It has a top speed of 180km/h.

Despite the fact that the automotive giant released this SUV in Malaysia last month, Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has only recently revealed the official pricing for the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric SUV. The new model also holds the distinction of being Malaysia's first locally assembled EV.

The Malaysian variation, also known as the P8 Recharge, has a 300kWh dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration that produces 408 PS and 660Nm of torque. The SUV has a top speed of 180km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds, according to the official specs sheet.

Maximum Driving Range of 418km

The XC40 Recharge Pure Electric has a maximum driving range of 418km under the WLTP standard and comes standard with one pedal drive capability and a 78kWh battery. When charged using a typical household 3-pin socket, the SUV takes around 34 hours to fully charge from 0%.

How to Charge Volvo XC40 Recharge + Charging Time

Drastically cut short your charging time from 11 hours to 7 hours when you use the Type 2 charging connector. This is definitely more welcome but then again 7 hours is considered to be too long compared to pumping fuel at the petrol station, no? In terms of DC charging time using the CC2 connector, a 50kW rapid charger can charge a battery from 10% to 80% in 68 minutes, while a 150kW charger can charge it in 37 minutes.

Customers will also receive a 5-year Roadside Assistance package as well as a charging cable. Customers may expect the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric to be delivered beginning in late April, according to VCM.
