Tesla Optimus Bot Will Go Live in 2023

What if robots start taking over your jobs? This reminds me of i-Robot starring Will Smith. Behold Tesla Optimus Bot which will go live in 2023.

With Elon Musk, you know that a functional and practical humanoid robot will be rolled out by Tesla real soon. Behold the Tesla Optimus Bot, a bizarre-sounding concept for a humanoid robot. It was brought up again during Tesla's recent Cyber Rodeo event near Austin, Texas. The Tesla Optimus Bot is intended to be an android the size and shape of a human. They are reported to be meant to perform tasks that humans do not want to do or that are too dangerous for humans. Elon Musk appears to value this concept highly. He envisions the robot having a greater impact than Tesla's electric cars.

Tesla Optimus Bot Will Go Live in 2023

Elon Musk originally suggested the Tesla Optimus Bot in August 2021 during the company's AI day. Surprisingly detailed information and photos were provided, probably to persuade people that the android, dubbed Optimus Sub-Prime, was not a hoax. Tesla is well-known for its automobiles but has never publicly unveiled a robot. On the other hand, Musk said that Tesla did develop robots for its advanced automobile manufacturing process and that a Tesla car equipped with full self-driving capabilities is essentially a robot on wheels.

What is Tesla Optimus Bot?

Will robots be an "endemic" for us as well in the future?

Since its inception in 2021, the Tesla Optimus Bot has been mentioned on a periodic basis. Musk stated that the firm has a chance of initiating production on the Tesla Optimus Bot's first iteration in 2023, despite the fact that no prototypes have been presented thus far. This sounds like wishful thinking, especially in light of the company's delays since the outbreak began. With supply chain logistics improving, the Cybertruck, Semi, Mini Cyberquadand next-generation Roadster all seem plausible for 2023.

Tesla launching a totally new category of the product next year, a humanoid robot or android, appears to be considerably less plausible. Tesla has the resources and technology necessary to do extraordinary feats, and possibly an early prototype of the Tesla Optimus Bot will be ready for a demonstration next year. After all, Musk also launches reusable rockets into space and provides extensive satellite internet, both of which were unavailable prior to Musk's involvement.

The design choices made for Optimus are comparable to those made by Tesla for its Full Self-Driving systems, which rely on vision-based artificial intelligence rather than LiDAR or Radar. Just as highways are designed for individuals with visual systems, factories, businesses, and other structures are also designed for humans, with doors and stairs created to accommodate a person's size and shape.

Will Tesla Optimus Bot Take Away Your Job?

Will Tesla Optimus Bot Take Away Your Job

If the Tesla Optimus Bot is intended to act in the place of a human, making it a humanoid seems like a realistic long-term strategy. By comparison, today's factory robots are highly specialised, frequently anchored to the floor and isolated from human workers. If Tesla's aspirations for artificial general intelligence (AGI) are sufficiently progressed, this barrier between human and robot workers may become obsolete, a huge advancement.

The Tesla Optimus Bot's size and weight will be similar to that of a human, allowing it to work in the same environment. To allay any fears or potential dangers associated with 'Terminator stuff,' as Musk puts it, Optimus is projected to be slower and weaker than a human, making it easy to overcome or flee the android if required.

It is understood that Elon Musk's ultimate goal, as he claims, is to revolutionise the world even more than Tesla automobiles can. This will of course usher in an age of abundance in which disagreeable and risky work is performed by robots, leaving more joyful employment to people. While the Tesla Optimus Bot and high aims seem incredible, even if a prototype is unveiled in 2023, it could be decades before this technology has a meaningful impact on how people work and live.
