My First Dose of Sinovac Vaccine

Yay! I have been vaccinated. Just got my My First Dose of Sinovac Vaccine to combat against the spread of Covid-19 virus. Have you been vaccinated?

Today was my turn to get my first dose of Sinovac Vaccine. Though I prefer to get the more reliable Pfizer vaccine just like what my dad had received, I know that beggars can't be choosers right? Still, at least it is not the "sensational" Astrazeneca vaccine that has caused some concerns for people. Then again, I understand the efficacy of the Chinese-made Sinovac leaves a lot to be desired.

Last week, I got an SMS informing me that I will be getting my Covid-19 vaccine. Upon reading the message, I immediately access my MySejahtera App and there it was my appointment in a clinic just 3 minutes away from my home. So from the same page, I could get information about the date, time, and location of my first vaccination appointment.

Of course, what vaccine I was going to get remained a mystery until I finally got it. Yupe! You will not know what vaccine you will be given. So earlier today, I headed to my vaccination center and I was surprised as I did not have to queue in a long line just like what my father had to. It was a private clinic. In fact, there were only 3 or 4 of us at that time. So after verifying our identity and appointment, we were seated, and in no time it was my turn to get my jab.

At 2pm sharp, the nurse ushered me to a room where I would get my jab. She then explained to me that I will be getting the Chinese-made Sinovac vaccine. She showed me the vile and reconfirmed with me that the vile did contain the Sinovac Vaccine-it was not empty, hence I was not going to get injected with "air" like what others have reported and even lodged police reports.

The whole vaccination process was fast and easy. In no time, I was asked to rest for 15 minutes in a designated area. Tik-tok~tik-tok and that was it. I could go home. Of course, my vaccination will not be complete without me taking a photo or 2 at the "photo booth" to declare that I have started my Covid-19 vaccination jab right? I reached home at around 2:25pm. So the whole vaccination process took just around 20 minutes for me.

Now 4 hours after my Chinese-made Sinovac vaccine jab, I feel perfectly fine and there is no sign of any side effects at all. I don't feel feverish not was there any niggling pain for my arm which was injected with the vaccine. Some say that there are no side effects because the efficacy is low but I hope that is not true. Still, I am really elated and relieved to finally get my first jab of the Covid-19 vaccine-Sinovac, which is the most widely used vaccine in the world.
