How To make pour over coffee

Pour over coffee is definitely more time consuming and will require much more effort and involvement on your part before you can even taste your coffee. So is it worth all the hassle? The average coffee drinkers (as opposed to a coffee lover) will certainly be put off by the idea of waiting for your coffee to drip for a few minutes of time. However, those who really enjoy their cup of joe do not mind the wait.

You will need a coffee dripper and coffee filter paper

Why should you try pour over coffee? Unlike your over the counter Starbuck coffee or instant coffee, your pour over coffee will give you more control over the quality of your coffee. In other words, you can actually control the grind size of your coffee, brew temperature and of course the flow rate of your brewing. All these factors will allow you to "pour over" tasty coffee that you will love.

Make sure you have your ground coffee (or pre-ground) ready

To the uninitiated, pour over coffee requires you to brew your coffee manually by pouring hot water over ground coffee. Then a filter is used to trap your coffee grounds and allow your liquid coffee to flow through it and into a carafe or a cup. Of course, you can ground your own coffee or purchase pre-ground coffee separately. With so much work and time involved, many have dubbed pour over coffee as "artisan" coffee. What do you think?

1. Place your coffee filter in the coffee dripper

Make sure to control the temperature and flow of your hot water

Honestly, I truly enjoy watching my coffee drip bit by bit into my cup. By pouring over my own coffee, it gives me more satisfaction as I am the one who truly brews it right from the start. I feel very much involved as I have to control the water temperature and its flow. In other words, I have to supervise the quality of my coffee.
