After our trip to Entopia Penang, We headed to one of the most recommended cafes in Penang to enjoy our food. Enter Pik Nik at Nagore Penang which is one of the best places on the island to have lunch and dinner. After reading so many raving reviews about this eatery, we decided that this is a must-go cafe in Penang that we should not miss. Hence after our close encounters with some bugs, a tarantula and a snake, we needed scrumptious comfort food to replenish our energy and that was why we opted to pay this lovely cafe a visit.
Pik Nik at Nagore Road, Penang-A Must Visit For Foodies
Situated along Nagore Road in Penang which is a prime area, looking for a parking can be a bit of a challenge. Still, we foodies will not miss this haven for food. After going round and round a few times, we finally spotted a parking lot. Judging from its exterior, we knew that this cafe would be an exquisite place to savour our lunch. The moment we stepped in, we were already in awe of Pik Nik's rustic and laidback charm. The combination of light music, soothing lighting and relaxing ambiance made us feel so at ease and comfortable.
So what should you order at Pik Nik Penang?
Those who love to snap selfies and pictures will appreciate the interior design and decor of the cafe. In fact, I would say that Pik Nik at Nagore Road is one of the most Instagrammable cafes in Penang. Within the cafe, there will be at least 5 different backgrounds for you to snap photos that you can share on your social media account. It's like the cafe itself is an art gallery with different settings for different corners of the cafe. Girls will love the pastel pink spot where everything was...of pink. I personally love the black backdrop with the huge lightning!
Pik Nik is definitely one of the most Instagrammable cafes in Penang

You will love the cozy and artsy ambiance in Pik Nik
Of course you do not come here only "for the gram" right? I must admit that the presentations of the food in Pik Nik are equally work of art. Altogether we ordered 5 different dishes and 4 beverages. They were not only visually pleasing, but also very, very appetizing and delectable. It is very rare that you will get food that not only looks good on the outside but taste equally good on the inside. We really have to applaud the chefs for dishing these ambrosial luncheon for us.
Our Kimchi Pork Bulgogi Fried Rice
Spicy Mala Smoked Duck Aglio Olio
The first dish that we tasted at Pik Nik was the tantalizing Kimchi Pork Bulgogi Fried Rice, served with a sunny side up. Every grain of the rice was really flavorsome and tasty with a hint of spiciness to it. Next, we had Spicy Mala Smoked Duck Aglio Olio which is a must try in Pik Nik. OMG! It was really lip-smacking and the spaghetti was cooked to perfection and the smoked duck slices were simply...heavenly. Every bite of it was unbelievably juicy and breathtaking. I wish I could have a second plate of it. You really have to order this when you are at Pik Nik, trust me!
Mac and Cheese conchiglie
Aburi Smoked Salmon Waffle Pizza
Jordan boy and Jasmine girl had pasta as well-Mac and Cheese conchiglie served with irresistible chorizo and mushroom. Creamy and al-dente, the kids love their Italian pasta which really suited their taste buds. One of the reasons why we wanted to dine in Pik Nik was to try its interesting waffles menu. We tried the Aburi Smoked Salmon Waffle Pizza with scrambled egg which really got our eyes peeled in excitement! The smoked Salmon was really the standout in this dainty dish of ours. We really loved how they have fused the different ingredients together to dish out this wonderful waffle pizza that really whetted our appetite for more.
Waffle Bae-con is a must-try!
We love all the beverages at Pik Nik
Last but not least, the most highly anticipated dish that yours truly me had been waiting for was the Waffle Bae-con served with scrambled egg and maple syrup. I must say that this Waffle Bae-con is the best food I have tried in Pik Nik Penang thanks to the strips of bacons of course. The waffles were crisp and fluffy at the same time while the scrambled egg added that much-needed additional texture to the former. Of course, the highlight was the perfectly cooked bacon strips that I could not have enough of. They were so lusciously crispy and tender, melting in your mouth as your sink your teeth into them. OMG!
Let's dig in!
Wifey and Jasmine were so happy with their feast. 😄
Of course we needed a few good beverages to complement our distinctive food right? And since we were rather thirsty, we needed a few sips to quench our yearn for liquid. The kids ordered vanilla milk and banana yogurt smoothie while wifey opted for something chocolatey-Dark Chocolate milk-based beverage. As for yours truly me, no food is perfect without coffee right? So I had the rich latte to help me seal the great aftertaste of the food that we have just indulged in earlier on.
