Apple has finally unveiled their iPhone SE and this is actually the second generation in year 2020. What's really interesting about this iteration of SE model is the fact that it is bigger and practically an iPhone 8 but with the raw processing power of iPhone 11. Hence it is safe to say the despite being a budget iPhone, SE is definitely a powerful smartphone that can give others a run for their money within the RM2,000 price tag war.
Hold the iPhone SE in your hand and you will be greeted by the unmistakable 4.7-inch Retina HD display. The screen is identical to iPhone 8 with TrueTone Display technology that churns out a maximum brightness of 625 nits. Unfortunately 3D touch is absent here as it is not a top-of-the-line flagship to begin with. The built of iPhone SE is a combination of aluminium and glass, giving it that premium and classy feel to it.
Shoot vivid, high quality HD videos with iPhone SE
Though the display is relatively smaller compared to the other smartphones within the price range, those who love Apple devices will be used to it. Under the hood, iPhone SE is powered by in-house Apple's A13 Bionic Chip complete with 3rd generation Neural Engine, complemented by 3GB of RAM. As for photography, iPhone SE rear camera is made up of a single 12MP shooter that is capable of shooting 4K videos at 60fps together with Optical Image Stabilization. It also has the ability to capture extended dynamic range video of up to 30fps as well as QuickTake Video and Stereo Recording.
Flip the iPhone SE to the front and you will get the 7MP FaceTime HD camera which can shoot videos in 1080p HD format. On top of that you will also get a Portrait Selfie Mode that will capture bokeh effects with 6 different portrait lighting effects. This will allow you to snap stunning selfies for all your flashy social media accounts.
Interestingly, the iPhone SE will be retaining the classic home button that has built-in Touch ID fingerprint sensor. This is definitely a boon for those who prefer to unlock their iPhone by using their prints instead of their face especially when we are masked most of the time at this moment. You will get the latest connectivity features with support for WiFi 6 with MIMO, Gigabit-class LTE, Bluetooth 5.0 and Dual-sim support.
IPhone SE will have very long battery life it seems
Apple iPhone SE will be powered by Qi Wireless Charging together with 18 watts Fast Wired Charging. Though the capacity of battery is not officially disclosed yet, it is claimed to be a 1,821mAh battery that will have 13 hours of video playback on a single full charge. You will also be happy to note that there is IP67 dust and water resistance which means it can be submerged up to 1 metre underwater for 30 minutes. Though I doubt you should be bringing it for a swim. LOL 😁
It is water-proof baby!
Available in 3 different colour choices of Black, Red and White, iPhone SE is currently being listed on Apple Malaysia's website. There are 3 different variants with different storage capacity namely 64GB, 128GB and 256GB options. As with any other Apple smartphones, you will not be getting any external storage capacity so always opt for the model with the highest storage if you can afford. So are you excited that Apple's more affordable "compact"flagship is now in Malaysia?
