Do you still remember the 2002 hit song God Is A Girl? Do you know the real meaning behind the song?

Have you ever thought about this? Is God a girl? Or is He a man? But judging from what is happening around the world, it seems quite right to point to the fact that God is indeed a lady whose wrath can be felt everywhere~it spreads and there seems to be no end in sight. OK~Sorry God! This is not a sexist post but instead just another Music Monday post of mine to share music that I love. So what is today's post about? Well God Is a Girl of course. 😆

Is God really a girl?

I am sure you have heard how infectious the song was when it was raiding charts across the globe right? You heard it on your radios, ringtones, TV programmes, while you are clubbing and well the song seemed to be everywhere or in other words omnipresent like...a God! OMG! So according to Wikipedia, God Is a Girl is actually sung by a German trance group Groove Coverage. I doubt you know about this right? Still nobody cares who is the voice behind the song but we all do know that it is a girl! SEE~God is a girl. 

The real voice behind "God"

The song is actually about an exposed scam in 1987 carried out by the notorious Peter Popoff. Hence in the MTV, you can see a healing ritual whereby a girl is presented as a God to naive believers and there are people asking for donations. This depicts the aforementioned fake faith healer who conned gullible people by exploiting their faith. Though not many understand the real reason this song was written, we do know that it is unbelievably catchy and groovy. So just enjoy the music right? 😉

Brings back memories of the good old days right? I remember this song alright. Guess I am really kinda old already as the song was released back in 2002...hmm...that was 18 years ago.
