Sometimes we tend to take things for granted and allow compromise to go a long way without really doing anything about it; However...how far can we afford to go without doing something that is worthy to be done? The fact is, we take time for granted thinking that we will always wake up the next day and we will have another 24 hours to...well...do the same thing all over again. Don't we have a purpose? Or we are really here just to let time slips through our fingers just like grains of sand?

We should start to think about how we can do every task that we have better than it has ever been done before. William Danforth once said, "Start a crusade in your life to dare to be your very best." So we should always strive to do our best and become the yardstick of quality. We should always do the right thing regardless of what others think. In fact the funny thing about life is that if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it.

We should always hold ourselves responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of us. We should never give ourselves excuses. Like it or not, at the end of the day people will always judge your character by observing what you stand for or fall for. In life, we must not just seek success. Instead, we ought to seek for excellence, and we will find both. We must do the very best that we can, and leave the results to take care of themselves.

We might be mistaken that perfection is the best alternative to mediocrity. However, a better alternative is excellence. Striving for excellence rather than perfection is not only stimulating but also rewarding. More so when you achieve it after overcoming adversities that have allowed you to grow. We should always be on our toes for there is always a heavy demand for fresh mediocrity; We should never give in to it. We must not sell our principles for popularity or we will soon find ourselves bankrupt in the worst imaginable way. Ted Engstrom had reminded us, "Excellence demands that you be better than yourself."

So folks are you doing your very best to be excellent every single day? Or are you just rotting away, living a worthless life?
