This year end is a bit different from previous years as my wife and I will not be returning to the beautiful City of Rain. The reason is because we are busy attending to our new home; You know the renovations, paintings, moving etc. Usually we will be having our mini vacation back at my wife's hometown for a few days. It is always good to nestle in a place, away from the hustle and bustle of the city (Malacca) and to bask in the lush greenery that Taiping has got to offer. Too bad we are not able to afford such luxuries this time around. :'(
Besides missing Taiping, we, of course do yearn to see my father-in-law again. It has been months since we last met. My babies are certainly missing the grandfather. And it has been months since we last sat down together to enjoy our dinner. That reminds me of our dinner that we had in a food court months ago in Taiping. It was an old food court patronized by old and new customers. I remembered that it was still the fasting month as we, together with our Muslim friends, were waiting for our food to be served.
Guess what he was playing with?
I must say that the food in Taiping is a tad more delicious compared to the ones in my very own hometown. Perhaps my taste buds are bored with the same old usual food in Malacca? Back then we had to wait quite some time before our food was served. It was the usual "peak hour" when the hawker centre was crowded with hungry customers. So while waiting for our food, of course we did the usual thing that we always do-snapped tonnes of photographs aka cam-whoring. Ha :D
We brought Jordan and Jasmine around the hawker centre to sight see. After around 20 minutes, we finally got to break our fast too. :p We had marmite chicken, deep fried vegetable (no idea what vegetable we ate), fish curry and spicy kang kung. I really savoured my dinner as it was really scrumptious. The marmite chicken was perfectly marinated and cooked-tender and juicy. And the boiling fish curry made our whole dining experience more spicy and not forgetting more "sweaty". :p
Finally dinner is served!
We had a great time in Taiping. My father-in-law was more than happy to see his two grandchildren. Both Jordan and Jasmine were excited to be by their grandpa's side, especially Jasmine girl. Like the age old adage says, "Dinner time is when all the family members reunite." How so true huh. So we are looking forward to go back to Taiping again as soon as we have moved into our new home. Can't wait to breathe in the fresh air in Taiping. :)
