While we were in Taiping, my father-in-law brought all of us to the latest recreational park in Kamunting. It was just a stone's throw away from our home. Kamunting Lake Park was actually a mining pool. You can locate it quite easily as it is between the Kamunting Detention Centre and Rakan Muda Complex. It was good to be there early in the morning. During our visit, it was cloudy and the air was so refreshing in the park. The morning breeze that caressed our faces was so refreshing!

Let's go to Kamunting Lake Park

The Kamunting Lake Park was officially "unveiled" last month by Perak Local Covernment Committe chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon. Do you know how much this new recreational park cost our government? I understand that a whopping RM3.2 million was allocated to "build" this 14 hectares Kamunting Lake Park. Very generous of our National Landscape Department indeed. So far only the first phase of the park's development involving 8 hectares of land has been completed. I hope the second phase will commence as soon as possible.

I must say that I was lucky enough to visit the park especially in the presence of little Jordan. Since my right ankle was still injured, we had to rely on the baby car seat to move little Jordan around. Besides his car seat can also doubles up as a bed with shade for him. The crisp air that filled our lungs make us feel so reinvigorated. A stark difference from the polluted Malacca. The lake is filled with lots of lotus and I was only able to spot one pink lotus flower. LOL :D And at the middle of the park, you will see a bridge connecting you to the other side of the land. The lush greeneries really complemented the the .mountainous backdrop. It is really a joy to be here.

All in all Kamunting Lake Park is really a great place for family outing. It offers a lot of facilities too. But the only drawback is lack of maintenance! I saw lots of rubbish in the lake and patches oil could be seen almost everywhere. Moreover the toilets are not properly maintained too. I hope the authorities will do something about it and make Kamunting Lake Park a great recreational spot for all of us. It will be a shame if this place is polluted after the government has forked out so much money. I hope I will be able to see a cleaner Kamunting Lake Park on my next visit. :)

I am sure we will come here again next year. :)
