What had happened yesterday evening was the worst accident in Malaysia this year (2010). Tears welled in both my eyes when I knew about the terrible accident which killed at least 15 people and leave 45 seriously injured! Ironically this horrific accident happened yesterday,10th October 2010, which was supposed to be an auspicious day! OMG! This freak accident actually happened in Alor Gajah, Malacca! I couldn't believe my eyes when I read about this news on my friend's blog-Faisal Admar. I was really dumbstruck especially when I realized that the express bus (Delima) involved in this tragic accident was the one that my brother took earlier at 5pm.

The worst accident in Malacca!

It was a pile up of 6 vehicles: 2 buses, 3 cars and a van were involved in this disheartening accident at kilometre 223 of the North-South highway near the Simpang Ampat toll plaza. It was reported that this devastating accident happened around 6.40pm. Apparently the driver of Delima express bus was speeding from South to North and it grazed pass one of the car and lost control. The Delima express bus went out of control and flipped to the opposite lane (South-bound side) of the highway. And that was when all hell broke loose! Everything became worse! The Delima express bus then collided with 2 cars and a van before slamming into the side of a National Welfare Department bus. A Myvi was totally wreaked by the Delima express bus and another was burnt! OMG! Can you even imagine how horrifying was this accident?

This bus was more fortunate BUT...the rest...

Damn! Why did the bus driver had to speed? Why was he in such a hurry? I thought a bus should not speed on a highway, let alone try to overtake another vehicle at high speed? Never mind about the traffic jam...it doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that the mistake of the Delima Express Bus driver not only ended his own life but also 11 others. Another 3 succumbed to their injuries in the hospital later. Can you imagine what this means to the the family of the killed people? It is understood that the driver and the other passenger of the Myvi was killed on the spot. Why...

Here are pictures of the chaos that took place yesterday 10-10-10 at 6.40p.m.:

Bodies could be seen everywhere...

The dead and injured were then sent to the Tampin Hospital, Tuanku Ja'afar (Seremban) and Malacca General Hospital. I believe the Delima Express Bus departed from the Malacca Central bus station at 6p.m and my brother took the 5p.m bus! One hour was what separated my brother from the dreadful tragedy. Thank God. But...yesterday, 10th of October 2010....15 lives were snatched away. Today...all Malaysians should mourn. My deepest condolence to the family of the unfortunate people.

I hope...this is the worst and there will never ever be such a tragedy anymore!
