It is very rare that my family and I would be indulging in any afternoon tea in Melaka. In fact, the Holiday Inn Melaka Afternoon Tea set is our very first official afternoon tea review in Melaka. This is arguably one of the best and cheapest afternoon tea in Melaka for sure! For those who want to enjoy something lighter after their heavy afternoon meal, then you really need to consider such a dainty Afternoon Tea set.

Not to be mistaken for the usual lunch buffet or High Tea, such Afternoon Tea is usually served from around 3pm to 4pm. To the uninitiated, afternoon tea has its roots back to the 1840s and back then it was usually enjoyed by the upper class in the United Kingdom. In fact, afternoon tea was usually considered to be a formal gathering or sort for the elites back in the old days. Hence, I do feel a bit "atas" (high class) when my afternoon tea set is served right before me. 😂

Besides me, my family also joined me to savour this delectable afternoon tea. This Holiday Inn Melaka Afternoon tea set of ours was presented to us in a golden gilded decorative bird cage, which of course, added more class to the whole package. If you like to snap photos for the "gram", then this will be your Instagrammable post of the day. Inside the three-layer semi-enclosed bird cage were three plates of dainty desserts perfect for our afternoon tea.

So what did we get to sample for our delightful afternoon tea set prepared by renowned chefs of Holiday Inn Melaka? All in all, there were 7 different pastries, cakes and sandwiches. In other words, each of us got to taste 7 varieties of tasty desserts. We had Cream Puff, Scone, Cheese Cake, Apple Crumble Tart, Blueberry Muffin, Sardine Puff and Smoked Chicken Croissan'wich. All of them were unbelievably toothsome and packed with so many ambrosial flavours.

My family and I really enjoyed everything, especially the Smoked Chicken Croissan'wich (which I could have more 🤤) and the scones. The sardine puff was surprisingly good as well. If you have a sweet tooth, you will definitely love the Blueberry Muffin and Cheese Cake topped with fresh strawberry slices. Then again, I must applaud the chef as the level of sweetness was just nice for me and my family. W couldn't help but find that our scones, cakes and pastries all looked so gorgeous like pieces of art if you like.

On top of that, each of us could order either hot coffee or tea beverages. Yes! That means this Afternoon Tea set by Holiday Inn Melaka comes with 4 beverages. As for coffee, we tried the usual Cappuccino and Macchiato. We also ordered Green Tea & Lemon as well as Peppermint Tea to go with our nectarous desserts. I understand that you could request chilled coffee or tea drinks from the menu if you really want to but we have always preferred something hot.

We really had a gratifying afternoon tea set to say the least. The food was certainly sumptuous and the baristas have really hit the right notes with our hot coffee and tea. Amazingly, our Holiday Inn Melaka Afternoon Tea for 4 persons cost only RM85 nett which is ridiculously cheap if you ask me. Yes! So in total, each person will only need to pay RM21.25 which is a great deal. If there are only the two of you, you can opt for the Afternoon Tea set for 2 persons at RM45 which is still cheap.
