It was seen for the first time earlier this week at Moncler's "The Art of Genius" event, which took place during London Fashion Week. It is a continuation of both brands' collaborative approach, which aims to push the limits of innovation and bridge unexpected industries. Before beginning work on this joint venture, Mercedes-Benz and the highly acclaimed fashion designer Virgil Abloh collaborated on the concept known as Maybach. When it comes to Moncler's Genius label, successful collaborations are a key component to the brand's overall success.

Project Mondo G is the name given to this particular rethinking of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The creation of the sculpture itself took more than a year, and it is comprised of a heavy-duty wagon that has high-gloss reflecting surfaces that are created in the style of Moncler's puffers. These surfaces highlight a portion of the roof of the car as well as the wheels. On the trunk of the car is a big zipper detail branded with the Moncler logo. Overall, the weight of Project Mondo G is 2.5 tons.

According to Gorden Wagener, chief design officer for Mercedes-Benz Group AG, this piece of artwork displays "the robust geometry of the G-Class mixed with the organic forms of Moncler puffer coats." "It's not something you would picture coming from the automobile business, so we wanted to push things to a different level," said Britta Seeger, a member of the board of management for Mercedes-Benz. It's not just a sponsoring engagement; it goes far more than that. Seeger acknowledges that the company is able to think creatively and reach a wider range of customers as a result of partnering with a variety of designers. These customers are not limited to the automotive industry.
