In my previous blog update, I mentioned that I got Covid-19 finally. In other words, I have caught the Covid-19 virus in my system or perhaps it was the other way around. I know I needed to do something. So here is a list of what to eat, drink and use if you have Covid-19. Please bear in mind that these are purely my own recommendations. I wish I were a doctor but I am not. 😂
10 Things To Eat, Drink and Use If You Have Covid-19
Do note that this "What to eat, drink and use if you have Covid-19" list is to help you to recover as soon as possible once you have been confirmed to be positive for the Covid-19 virus. These food, drinks and items are merely what the people around me in Malaysia have recommended to me. So if you are reading this from other parts of the world, hopefully, you could get your hands on them.

This personal information provided by me should not be used as a substitute for competent professional medical advice from a licensed doctor in your state or country.
1. Panadol ActiFast
When Covid-19 virus starts to manifest itself in the form of fever and headache, you know it is already in an advanced stage. Failure to do anything fast enough might dampen your recovery. Hence, I highly recommend you get this super-effective Panadol ActiFast instead of ordinary paracetamol. The product claims that it can be absorbed twice as fast to relieve pain.
I can personally vouch for its effectiveness and I am glad that my pesky fever and nagging headache can be controlled rather easily. You do not want to risk allowing your body temperature to exceed the allowed limit (point of no return). So this is truly one of the best over-the-counter paracetamol that I have ever taken in my life.
2. KoolFever Patch
I have not used this personally thanks to the aforementioned Panadol Actifast, but if you want a "Safeguard" to ensure your fever can be brought down ASAP, then you need to get these KoolFever Patch. They are both adult and kids versions available. To enhance their effectiveness, you can store them in your fridge first so that they can be used instantly when needed. Sometimes, relying on this alone will be sufficient if you do not want to take anything orally.
3. Three Legs Cooling Water
If you are a Malaysian, you probably already know this legendary Three Legs Cooling Water by its famous name-Rhinoceros Water aka "Air Badak" in Bahasa Malaysia. Each bottle (200ml) contains 200mg of Gypsum Fibrosum extract. By drinking this magical remedy, you can relieve fever and body heatiness. So besides paracetamol, you can also drink this Rhinoceros water to bring down your temperature.
4. Traditional Chinese Herb For Covid-19 Infection
Another very important weapon for your fight against Covid-19 infection is the traditional Chinese herb. I believe most of the famous and well-known traditional Chinese medicine halls have their own formulated herbs packaged into convenient sachets for easy consumption. These herbs have been tailor-made to help you recover from your Covid-19 infection as soon as possible.
So far, it has been effective in alleviating my sore throat and cough. The ones that I purchased cost me RM10 (US$2.10) per sachet. I believe I had purchased around 30 sachets for my whole family if the need arises. Usually, such grounded herbs should be consumed after a meal with water. However, if you are looking for Halal-certified herbs then you will need to give this a miss.
5. Ricola Swiss Herb Candy
You cannot be overdosing on paracetamol and Chinese herbs non-stop right? There is a limit to what you can consume orally. If you suffer from an aching sore throat, you can pop one of these Ricola Swiss Herb Candy to soothe your throat before it worsens. As always, the key is moderation and you should not be relying on them too much.
6. Eat a Balanced Diet
We should be eating a balanced diet all the time, especially when we are trying to recuperate from an infection such as this contagious Covid-19 virus. Therefore, we need to have all the nutrients to help us boost our immune system and accelerate cell and tissue repair. Eat according to the latest recommended food pyramid by the FDA with extra emphasis on Vitamin D, Carotenoids and Vitamin A, Zinc, Omega 3-Fatty Acid, and Vitamin C. Make sure you get all the needed nutrients to nourish yourself. You can also take some supplements to enrich your diet.
7. Drink Plenty of Water
Besides food, we also need to take care of our body fluid. The fact is, our body consists of 60% water and that is why proper hydration is important. However, if we have been crippled by Covid-19 virus, we need to drink more water than we usually do so that we could flush out the toxins, control our body temperature and accelerate metabolism just to name a few. The more you drink, the better it will be for you.
8. Antibacterial Disinfectant Spray
Chances are that you might be the only one at home who is down with Covid-19 virus, so you will need to sanitise your surroundings no matter where you go. You do not want to be the spreader in your home, no? I highly recommend Dettol Antibacterial All-in-One disinfectant spray as it is a trusted brand of course. Moreover, equipped with this disinfectant spray you can prevent yourself from getting tangled in another bout of infection just when you are just about to recover.
9. Saliva Test Kit
After you have verified that you are positive for Covid-19 infection, make sure to check your progress every single day to ensure that you can see improvement eventually. If the results still turn out to be the ghastly double-line "positive" that we loathe seeing, then you really need to seek professional advice such as consulting a doctor. So grab a few (or a lot) of saliva test kits. I got 5 for RM10 from Mr DIY which is really cheap, right?
10. Wear Your Mask All The Time
Some might want to remove the mask because they assume they are already infected or on the pretext that they have difficulty breathing. Regardless of the reason, it is still crucial for us to wear our masks especially when we have been infected with Covid-19 virus. You do not want to leave a trail of your virulent breath and air all around your house, no? Again, what if you could not recover as you are being exposed to the virus again and again due to the lack of protection being slapped on your nose and mouth? So mask up!
All in all, these are the 10 most essential things that I am having right now in my arsenal against the Covid-19 virus in my body. Though I am not using them most of the time, I do keep them in excess as a backup for relapsed infection or for my family members if *touch wood* they were to be infected as well. How about you? Do you have these for your combat against this invisible virus?
