Not every state is one that you should visit though as some will provide much better experiences than others. You should always make your bucket list based on things that you enjoy doing, but there are some states that simply offer everything.

1. Alaska

Alaska is not a state that most people think about when they make a list of top tourist destinations, but it absolutely should be near the top of the list. Of course, weather can be a concern when it comes to Alaska, but you will also experience things that can’t be found in the rest of the country.

As long as you time your visit right then you will be able to see the Northern Lights on a trip to the state. Alaska also features a number of different animals that can only be found by visiting this state.

Some of the views that you will find in Alaska are breathtaking, and you will be wanting a second visit after going there just once.

2. California

California is a massive state, and it’s going to take you some time to hit all of the top spots in the state. If you are visiting California then you will likely want to choose between Los Angeles, San Diego, or San Francisco.

Each city is very different in the opportunities that it can provide a traveller, but all three are places that you need to visit. Los Angeles has the beaches, San Diego has the best weather, and San Francisco has some terrific historic sites to visit.

Don’t make this a quick trip to California as you will want to take your time to enjoy everything.

3. Colorado

The Rocky Mountains are one of the biggest mountain ranges in the World, and you will be able to view them regardless of where you are in the state. Skiing is obviously a major draw to Colorado, but this is also a state that has some terrific cities as well.

Denver is a city that is loaded with things to do, and the weather during the summer will be perfect for a visit. You will also find that this state has some “relaxed” rules compared to other states, and you’ll be able to get some completely new experiences.

4. Florida

There are beaches everywhere in Florida, and the weather is usually perfect year-round. If you are looking for a tropical paradise that isn’t Hawaii or another country then Florida is your safest bet.

What makes Florida so special is that all of the big cities are all so different. You will get a much different experience in Destin than you would in Orlando or Miami. Florida is another state where you will have to select your destination, but making several trips would give you a chance to visit all of the top options.

5. Hawaii

Not much really has to be said when it comes to Hawaii as this is one of the most beautiful places in the World. Of course, you are going to have to pay more to visit Hawaii than some of the other states on the list, but it is going to be worth it.

You can learn how to surf in Hawaii or simply sit back and relax while being on the beach. There are some massive tourist resorts set up in Hawaii, and this atmosphere will provide the perfect vacation spot.

6. Wyoming

While Hawaii will be one of the most expensive places to visit, Wyoming will be the exact opposite. Wyoming is a state that has a very small population, and it’s also one that is filled with National Parks.

Yellowstone National Park is one place that everyone should visit at least once in a lifetime, but there are some other parks that are just as popular. You don’t need to go searching for tourist attractions in Wyoming as you can just experience the beauty while passing through.
