"Are you death or paradise?" asks Billie Eilish's in James Bond's iconic theme. Do you know that you can now pay respects to the "deceased" James Bond at the Faroe islands?  Yes! There is an actual Daniel Craig's James Bond's tombstone at the Faroe Island for the fallen hero. I wonder if this is the very first time any movie character has been immortalized in such a way!

Kalsoy island in the Faroe Islands has been revealed to be the final resting place of James Bond. No Time to Die was filmed here, and it was the final time we saw Daniel Craig in the role. The Cary Joji Fukunaga picture, in which Craig's Bond did, in fact, have a small amount of time to die. There are many who believe he made the moment on his own terms—that, and Craig was finished. A melancholy farewell was achieved thanks to some of the final-act revelations, but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

Was James Bond Really In Faroe Island?

Tombstones have been raised on the Faroe Islands in celebration of the Craig films by the locals and the tourist board to honour the Craig era. The fact that it was a collaborative effort by fans who actually reside in the area makes it all the more special to me. Faroese basalt (which is some seriously good rock) was used to carve a beautiful grave at Skopoun by a well-respected local stonemason.  Those with eagle’s eye will immediately notice the similarity between Bond’s tombstone to the one his parents' grave in the movie Skyfall. To complete the tomb, the statement from author Jack London for Bond's obituary in You Only Live Twice: "The proper function of man is to live, not to exist" is aptly chosen.

He's referred to as "The King of Kalsoy," a local sheep farmer who shepherded the 60-person crew in the film's closing credits. This hometown hero makes for a terrific storey we didn't know we needed as the official James Bond Faroe Islands tour guide. If you decide to take the trip, he'll most likely tell you everything you need to know as you make your way to the cemetery where James Bond is buried.
