Bangkok's New Full Name Translation and Meaning

“City of angels, the great city of immortals, magnificent city of the nine gems, the seat of the king, city of royal palaces, home of gods incarnate, erected by Vishvakarman at Indra’s behest.”

Honestly speaking, I am really impressed by Bangkok's new full name and pronunciation. It is not only visibly longer but its translation literally blows my mind. No disrespect, but I am truly flabbergasted to see words like "angels", "immortals", "nine gems" and "gods incarnate" which make the name super cool and it feels like Bangkok is a place for higher up beings. I can't help but feel that Marvel should make a superhero or superheroes movie in Bangkok right now!

The announcement of the official name change of Bangkok was made by Thailand's Office of Royal Society. So why did Thailand change Bangkok to its new name "Krung Thep Maha Nakhon"? P.S.: I kind of like this new name change of Bangkok to "Krung Thep Maha Nakhon". It has a greater sense of identity and it is more enigmatic. What say you?
