If you are a parent like me, you would probably want to find out about the latest official Academic Calendar (Kalender Akademik Sesi 2022/2023) for the year 2022 (next year) for all Malaysian students right? The good news is the wait is over and now we know that next year primary and secondary school students in Malaysia will start going to school on 2nd or 3rd January itself.

Academic Calendar For Year 2022 For Malaysian Students

As usual, the calendar will be divided into two groups namely group A and group B which denotes different states. Schools in group A will be schools from Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu which will see their schooling session for the year 2022 start on the 2nd of January 2022. Please refer to the enclosed tables for more information.

Sesi Persekolahan dan Cuti Malaysia Pada Tahun 2022

Group B includes schools from Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Pulau Pinang, Sabah Sarawak, Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan and Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya. Students from schools included in group B will start going to school on the 3rd of January 2022.

Apparently New School Term Starts on the 21st of March 2022

Interestingly, the "first" or last term holidays will start on the 25th or 26th of February and will last for a whopping 24 days until the 20th of March 2022. So parents who want to go on a vacation with their next year during the school break can start planning now. The following school term holidays will be in June from the 3rd of June till the 11th of June, spanning 9 days instead of the usual 2 or 3 weeks. For the full list of school term holidays and schooling days for Malaysian students, please refer to the enclosed tables.

School Holiday Break for Malaysian Students:

• 23 days (from 26-02-2022 to 20-03-2022)

• 9 days (from 04-06-2022 to 12-06-2022)

• 9 days (from 03-09-2022 to 11-09-2022)

• 22 days (from 10-12-2022 to 31-12-2022)

If you want to know about school holidays for Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Hari Gawai, and Hari Deepavali do refer to the official dates released by the Ministry of Education of (MOE) Malaysia aka KPM (Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia).
