Finally, after waiting for months, my father had finally started his Covid-19 Vaccination programme. The first dose of Pfizer vaccine for my dad was administered yesterday in a community hall here in Melaka. I am glad that everything went smoothly (almost) when I brought my dad to get his vaccine jab. The center that we had gone to is Kompleks Japerun Sungai Udang which is one of the many vaccination centers in Melaka.

Just when we thought it would take forever for the useless backdoor government to provide vaccines for the elderly, then my dad got his appointment for his first dose of vaccination. Do note that the current MySejahtera App that we Malaysians are using will NOT be sending you any notifications to prompt you when you have been given an appointment date. So we have to check daily to see if we have been given any appointment date!

Step 1-Registration to get your Pfizer Vaccine

Daddy was waiting for his turn.

That is why a lot of elderly have missed their appointments as they do not even know that they have one, to begin with. It is a shame that the Malaysian government has spent millions on this app only for it to be so flawed. So children or the younger ones should really help the old adults in the family to check their vaccination appointment status from time to time or on a daily basis. Otherwise, the government will be blaming the citizens for not showing up and blah~blah~blah! 😅

The rude RELA member who DID NOT WEAR a mask!

When we arrived at the community hall, I had to drop off my dad at a tent for his registration. Apparently, in Melaka elderly citizens could not be accompanied by the children or kin which I thought was really a bad idea. What if they had hearing problems? What if these elderly people have problems communicating their thoughts? Again, bad planning by the government.

Children and kin had to wait in another designated area!

As usual, RELA members were paid to help control the situation and crowd. I was not particularly impressed by a few RELA members who were rude and crudely yelling without any patience and manners. There was even one RELA lady who did not even put on a mask, kept on yelling at the children of the elderly asking them to leave the old parents and head over to the waiting area. I understand that she was doing her job...but..couldn't she be more refined and well-mannered? What a shame!

How did my dad feel after his 1st dose of Pfize Vaccine?

He said it was nothing! Like a boss!

That aside, I guess the whole process of vaccination went really smoothly, and kudos to the doctors and health officials who have made it possible. Since my dad had the Pfizer vaccine, he will be getting his second dose next month which is really great. My dad has been doing great and there are no side effects of whatsoever so far. I wonder when will I be getting my Covid-19 vaccination jab. The rollout has been really slow in Melaka so I guess we will have to wait. Have you had your vaccine already?

When will the others get their Covid-19 vaccine?

    1. Terrible right? I am shocked that she has the gut to yell at others while she herself is not wearing any mask whatsoever.
