Cheaper Porsche for Malaysians?
It is reported that the most likely location for the building of the factory will be in Pekan, where its parent company Volkswagen has already set up its facility. This good news will definitely be a welcome boost to our automobile industry as we are currently lagging behind our neighbours (Thailand & Indonesia) in terms of attracting lucrative investments from global automakers. Of course, more job opportunities will be created as well.
Porsche factory in Pekan, Kedah?
According to the Edge, Christian Weiss who is the deputy director of corporate communications for Porsche, Southeast Asia region has shown tremendous potential for the demand of luxurious cars. Hence the company is planning to examine options for further growth in this market. However, no official confirmation has been made by Porsche.
