Finally, we got news that GSC will reopen on the 16th of December 2020 at these 9 locations nationwide. More precisely, cinemas at Kedah, Penang, Melaka, Pahang and Putarajaya will open their doors for moviegoers again. For a movie buff like me, this is indeed good news but can we wait for another 9 days for the reopening of these cinemas? *touch wood* Let's hope this time around these cinemas will remain open forever.
9 GSC Cinemas Will Reopen On The 16th of December
Are you excited to return to the cinema?
The year 2020 has been a terrible one for movie studios, cinemas and of course movies junkies. My family and I really miss going to the cinemas to watch movies on the big screen. Before the pandemic, the four of us would be snuggling in our front-mid seats to watch our favourite movies, while snacking on caramel popcorns, chicken balls and fizzie drinks. Nothing beats being mesmerized by stunning visual spectacles and rocked by vivid, surround sound that will shake your senses, right? And not to mention D-Box that will "vibrate and toss you around" you in all the right ways. 😁
9 GSC Cinemas That Will Reopen
1. GSC Aman Central (Kedah)
2. GSC Gurney Plaza (Penang)
3. GSC Sunway Carnival (Penang)
4. GSC Dataran Pahlawan (Melaka)
5. GSC AEON Bandaraya (Melaka)
6. GSC Alamanda (Putrajaya)
7. GSC East Coast Mall (Pahang)
8. GSC Mentakab Star Mall (Pahang)
GSC CityOne Megamall, Kuching (Sarawak)
Now these sweet memories seem like distant episodes that you used to watch in the black and white bulky TV box of yesteryears. Though we do have streaming services such as Netflix and Disney Plus together with large smart TVs, the experience of watching in a cinema cannot be emulated in your living room. To say that I am happy that cinemas will be reopened is an understatement...but will it be safe enough for us to watch movies in a cinema right now? I'm not sure but let's stay optimistic, shall we? After all with so many vaccines being officially unveiled, Covid-19 virus' imminent end seems to be closer now than ever.
Will Wonder Woman 1984 Be The Beacon of Hope for 2020?
This makes an awesome wallpaper, no? 😍
To recap, the 9 cinemas that will reopen on the 16th of December will officially open their doors from 6:00p.m. onwards. Why 6:00p.m.? I don't know. However this means that moviegoers near these locations (Kedah, Penang, Melaka, Pahang and Putrajaya) will be able to enjoy Wonder Woman 1984 on the huge screen complete with Dolby Atmos Surround Sound! Are you excited? So see you at GSC on the 16th of December at 6p.m. at the 9 selected cinemas. The others...pray and wait patiently. 😂
Oh? No GSC here...unfortunately. Our little town!
ReplyDeleteHow about other cinema? :D
DeleteIt has been ages since I step into a cinema. Gone are the glory days of cinema and movies. When I was young, movies like Titanic were full house for many days and we have to book the tickets 3 days in advance in case they are sold out!
ReplyDeleteHow come? I still enjoy watching movies in cinema (before the pandemic). It feels like I am in the movie. :)
DeleteOh, maybe I am old liao (sob sob), so now not really into those fiction alien movies etc lol.
DeleteBUt you look so young. lOL :D
DeleteBut me and my Buddy Jose did went to watch a movie in Malaysia (JB) a few years back. It was the MBO cinema, movie tickets were so cheap and affordable due to the exchange rate.
ReplyDeleteSo now it is even cheaper x3. :D So come over here and rent the whole cinema. I am sure they will welcome such business.
DeleteI think no more cinemas for me as I prefer watching ntflx.
ReplyDeleteYeah I guess a lot of people prefer Streaming services too. I am watching Netflix every day but it cannot be compared to the experience in a cinema.
DeleteCinema experience is not nice for me, aircond is too cold, sound system too loud and other viewers talking is disturbing. Sleep in bed watch tv is nicer experience.
DeleteYeah sometimes watching at home is equally enjoyable too right. :)
DeleteI went jalan-jalan mod Valley yesterday.
ReplyDeleteSo sad to see GSC closed.
They have a booth selling merch at the GF though.
Guess we will need to wait till next year to wait for GSC cinemas to slowly reopen.
