Can Our Lives Really Be Normal Again?

Can we get back our normal lives? Will this Covid-19 pandemic really come to an end? Or there will be other viruses waiting to pounce on us? Let's pray.
Can Our Lives Really Be Normal Again?

Today..I have been thinking really a lot about our new "normal"! It has been more than half a year since Covid-19 first made grand its appearance in Wuhan, China! Fast forward to 15th of July 2020, the relentless virus has since wreaked havoc in our lives. According to the latest report, so far 13 million people have been infected and a staggering 582, 784 people have been killed by the virus. The promised vaccine is nowhere to be seen and it appears that in some countries infections are rising exponentially.

582, 784 people have been killed by Covid-19 virus

The highly contagious Covid-19 virus has left trails of destruction in various countries such as the mighty USA, Brazil and India just to name a few. In those aforementioned countries, new daily infections are spiking and there seems to be no stopping this rampant pandemic. With certain countries reimposing lockdown, it is evident that things are getting worse and out of control. Some said it will all be over in summer...well summer is here and the Covid-19 virus is still undefeated just like John Wick who is bringing hell to everyone who is trying to stop "it"!

Can Our Lives Really Be Normal Again?

Do you think we can get our lives back?

However, there are other pandemics that we are overlooking. The most worrying one has got to be poverty pandemic as more and more people will be starving! Highly vulnerable communities who could hardly feed themselves prior to the outbreak is now facing an even bleaker future that threatens to kill them even before the virus could do so. Obviously such disease outbreak has far-reaching repercussions, with ripples that will make already underprivileged people to suffer even more!

Poverty pandemic is ravaging across the world!

In Malaysia, we are (for now) luckier compared to other countries but can we really beat the virus? A lot of us who are fortunate (to still have a job) have started going back to our offices to work. The government is slowly easing restrictions and allowing students to return to school but can we guarantee that there will not be any infection even when SOPs are being strictly adhered? Unfortunately there are still many selfish, ignorant Malaysians (curse you) who do not wear mask nor practise proper hygiene. Let's us pray that these few moronic idiots will not drag us down.

Can Our Lives Really Be Normal Again?
Let's hope we will get out of this "tunnel" soon

I really pity my children as they have been deprived of their childhood and schooling time. They will be returning to school to meet their teachers and friends again next week. I could see that they are really. For everyone's sake, please wear your mask and practise social distancing. I am really worried about out future. Will there be another virus looming in the horizon, waiting to pounce on us? Have we even seen the worse of the microorganism? *Sigh* For now let us all do our part and hopefully we can weather this "storm" and get our lives back. Or can we? Can our lives really be normal again?

  1. No, our lives will never be the same again. Just curious, where is this place in the photo? Which hotel with big glass windows looking out to the sea?

    1. Sadly you might be right. But let's hope you are wrong.

This photo is taken in Hatten Hotel's dining hall.

  2. That's not far enough, social distancing, one metre at least! I guess we will just get used to it, the so-called new-normal...and learn to live with it.
