Asus ROG Phone 3-The Smartphone Gaming Beast

Mobile gaming has become an increasingly lucrative market for smartphone manufacturers. There are various gaming-centric smartphones but the one that most avid gamers swear by is the iconic Asus ROG phone. Since its first appearance 2 years ago, Asus ROG (Republic of Gamers) gaming smartphone is getting more and more recognition and hence its latest iteration Asus ROG Phone 3 will be unveiled publicly real soon. This latest version of Asus ROG will see it retain its predecessor similar grey metal appearance.

Asus ROG Phone 3 will have a huge 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz of refresh rate. This refresh rate is on par with the screen of Nubia Red Magic 5G and will be essential for gamers who want a display without any motion blur for their immersive gaming experience. Under the hood, a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor and a whopping 16GB of RAM will be powering Asus ROG Phone 3. So expect buttery smooth user experience not only for gaming but of course for your usual daily chores with the smartphone as well.

Do you like the new design of Asus ROG Phone 3?

In terms of photography, Asus ROG Phone 3 will come with a triple camera setup which is horizontally aligned, though not in the middle. Shutterbugs will be happy that the main camera is a 64MP quad-bayer sensor paired with 2 LED flash components. The secondary LED will probably be utilized for its iconic Aura lighting to match its Lightning Armor Cases that will dazzle you with uber cool neon glow!

The latest iteration of ROG gaming smartphone sees another improvement in terms of design is the change its Aerodynamic cooling system. Instead of the protruding panel, there will now be a slim cutout to pair with the optional AeroActive Cooler Fan. This change will be welcomed by gamers as it will be more aerodynamic and can be used for a longer period of time. The forehead and chin on the smartphone front panel design are retained to better accommodate gamers' needs which I totally agree (being a gamer myself). This allows the smartphone to be handled more easily without any accidental screen touches that will screw up your gaming experience.

In terms of overall design language and direction, it appears that Asus is attempting to make ROG phone 3 more appealing to the general masses instead of just gamers. The speaker grills which used to be painted with copper accents are not absent for a more toned down black look. The power button and volume rocker will be positioned on the right while the left will still see a huge port that will allow you to level up your gaming experience via connection to a whole range of gaming-centric accessories.

Asus ROG Phone 3 has a whopping 6,000mah battery!

Being a gaming smartphone powerhouse, Asus ROG Phone 3 will be equipped with a huge 6,000mAh battery which supports 30W fast charging via USB-C. I was hoping that Asus would throw in an even faster fast charging technology but this will suffice for the moment and the enormous battery capacity will be more than enough a full day use. The Asus ROG Phone 3 was officially unveiled in Malaysia on the 22nd of July. The Malaysian pricing for Asus ROG 3 has yet to be revealed but it will definitely be more expensive thanks to the more powerful processor and increased amount of RAM. 1. I'm not into gaming. I just want a smartphone that is very simple, not too complicated for this old man's simple mind...and can take really good photos. Which would you suggest?
