Happy Birthday to myself. Can't believe that I am actually 35 years old. If I could live up to 70 years old (hopefully more than that please), then that means I am currently at the mid-point of my life's journey. Wow! Does it scare you knowing that you only have 50% of non-rechargeable battery left in you? By now a lot of "middle age" people are frantically looking for the fountain of youth by injecting botox into their face and concealing their true self with thick make up. But not me. Actually, I am quite happy to be growing old as I am aging like a fine wine. Or maybe I am not. LOL 😁
Pancakes and sunny side eggs plus salted butter
Still, I am really thankful to be alive and kicking at the age of 35. More importantly, I feel grateful to be blessed with a devoted wife and 2 adorable children who make my life complete. I am really lucky to have my wife and 2 babies in my life and every single year they are my birthday gifts that I will cherish for the rest of my life. What more could I ask for? Of course more everyone could use more money right? But still, I believe I already have everything that I ever need.
Eat well and live long
So this morning I woke up to the noises of my 2 kids, which is actually music to my ears. Then breakfast was served. My beloved wifey got up early in the morning to prepare special breakfast for me in the form of pancakes, sunny side eggs and salted butter. Dayum! Then I got a bowl of our customary delicious vermicelli soup with egg that will help me to live longer and healthier. OMG~gotta thank my wife for the gastronomical delight to kickstart the day.
My birthday dinner prepared by my beloved wifey
I have to salute my wife really! She had been busy the whole day since morning. If you think that my breakfast was not bad, wait till you see the 7 course birthday dinner that she had dished out for me. My wife knows me really, really well "inside out" 😝 so much so that she could read my mind, knowing what I would love to have for my birthday dinner. Yours truly me is so happy to enjoy the glorious, mouth watering dishes that my wife had been busy preparing for me for the whole day. One whiff of the dishes that she had cooked, my mouth started to drool and my taste buds were excitedly dancing.
She had been very busy in the kitchen for the whole day
First on the menu was sweet and sour chicken chunks served with some capsaicin, followed by the lip-smacking fried fish with sambal chilli that really ramped up my appetite. My wife also prepared fried butter calamari which was really crispy and flavourful thanks to to addition of curry leaves. Another of my favourite main dish was of course water spinach (kangkung) fried with fragrant sambal chilli and dried shrimp that really went well with our staple white rice. The 5th main dish was the "red eggs" that are traditionally required in a birthday dinner.

Fried fish with spicy sambal
Succulent crispy calamari
Lip smacking water spinach with dried shrimp and sambal!
Black glutinous rice with taro balls and coconut milk
I know that I could not get enough of the cuisines that my wife had cooked for me. I wish I had 4 stomachs like a cow to wallop more of the. Half an hour later, my wife prepared my favourite dessert-black glutinous rice with taro balls and coconut milk. She knows this is my all-time favourite desserts, so she went out of her way to prepare this dessert together with the incredibly toothsome taro balls which were really delightful additions.
The insanely luscious and creamy birthday cake that my wife had baked for me.
I wish that my family and I will always be happy and healthy.
My wife and my kids are my presents every single day
Let's dig in~Chocole ice cream sponge cake! 😍
Nope~That's not it! My wife then went one better by bringing out the highlight of the day-the 7th "dish". She had prepared a Chocolate Oreo Ice Cream birthday cake for me. She had spent a lot of her time, meticulously baking 2 layers sponge cake topped with another 3 layers of chocolate ice cream for me. Every single bite of the cake is insanely luscious, creamy and of course very tantalizingly refreshing. This artisan cake hand-crafted by my wife truly deserves a blue ribbon from me. This is arguably the best birthday cake I have ever eaten in my entire life.
Wow! Kudos to your wife! She is so amazing! Cook so many dishes and even made taro balls!? Super woman! She loves you so much so you must love her back so much too! Happy birthday to you! May you live long and live well!
