After I have personally tested the mesh networking system from Linksys, I must say that it is the real deal as there is no main default router to begin with. This clever design ensures that each node (there are 3) is able to communicate with each other independently. In other words each of the 3 nodes in the VELOP system function as an individual full-fledged standalone router. This special functionality allows the Velop mesh system to work with much more flexibility. I gotta admit that this intuitive design and engineering is really ingenious.

Crafted to be an eye candy, each of the Linksys Nodes is aesthetically pleasing and elegant (thanks to the all white colour). Honestly speaking when I un-box them, they don't look like a router at all. In fact, these 3 beauties look more like wireless Bluetooth speakers. The best part is, each of the nodes is designed to be compact. Meaning that it can easily fit in any corner of your house. Linksys claimed that each of their nodes is 88% smaller than a traditional router and I do agree thoroughly.

Being compact and beautiful means that all the nodes can easily be placed anywhere you like since it takes up less space and will blend in with its surrounding easily. As I am staying in a 4-bedroom house, I decided to create my Mesh WI-FI System by placing my 3 nodes at different locations in the house especially the dead spots. Set up was really a breeze and easy. The effortless, app-based set up guided me through the whole plug and play process easily. In no time I am enjoying my full speed Internet throughout my house. Ha :D

 After you have done setting your first node, you can set the other (depending on your needs) easily.

Like I have aforementioned, each of the 3 nodes is a master of its own-meaning that should one of the nodes is accidentally switched off or unplugged, the other nodes will immediately pick up the slack and reconnect your devices to ensure they have Internet connectivity all the time. I tried this "self-healing" ability of Velop by switching off one of the nodes and I am really impressed with its ability to ensure continued WI-FI coverage for all my devices. No stuttering, no downtime! No lagging at all!

Now being a Netflix junkie means that I really enjoy watching my favourite shows once my children and wife are asleep. Ha :D With Velop you do not have to worry if you have to move from your living room to say...the kitchen to grab something to eat as the whole house is blanketed with full strength WI-FI signal. So there will be no lagging or buffering or whatsoever to disrupt your viewing experience. Likewise while I am playing game, I could easily move from room to room without being worried about dropped WI-FI signal as Velop allows me to enjoy seamless WI-FI roaming from room-to-room. This is made possible as you only need to be connected to only one network all the time without the need to switch. Now that is what I call WI-FI that sets you free!

If you are a parent like me, you will be happy to know that you can easily limit and control your kids' screen time with the Linksys Shield (on Velop Tri-band only). So no more worrying about our little ones surfing the wrong kinds of websites, being addicted to online games or watching shows non-stop (only I am allowed to enjoy such privileges :p). So you are going to have a party and there will be many guests? Just share your WI-FI connection with them as they will get their own WI-FI name and password. All of these can be done easily though the app. Talking about total convenience and peace of mind huh!
