Exactly 1 week ago, my father-in-law, my wife, her sister, little Jordan and I visited Taiping's most iconic landmark. If you don't visit this most prominent sight in the City of Rain, it means you haven't been there at all! The beacon of Taiping that I am talking about is none other Taiping Lake Garden. It is the epitome of serenity and tranquility. If you have been to this sanctuary, you will know precisely what I am talking about.

Let's go to Taiping Lake Garden.

Jordan's very first picnic trip!

So last Monday, all of us packed our stuff and went for a picnic in Taiping Lake Garden. Well...not exactly...at Taiping Lake Garden...but rather somewhere a little bit further (100metres ) up the hill. Ha :D But technically our picnic spot is still known as Taiping Lake Garden. So in this post you will not be able to view the beautiful scenery of the lake. My apologize. That aside, I am going to show you what we did last week during our picnic.

Jordan was the first to reach Taiping Lake Garden. Ha :D

Taiping Lake Garden is just a stone's throw away from our home. I reckon it only took 3 minutes for us to be there. If you come here on weekends, you will have to really squint yours eyes to find a food spot. Since we were there on Monday, so we could easily choose a suitable picnic spot for ourselves. We unloaded our stuff from the 4wd truck, curled open the mats and voila we were picnicking already. We selected a huge tree to be our umbrella. Yes, we were there around noon, so Mr. Sunny was hovering on top of us.

Jordan was busy chewing his birdy friend while
his grandpa, mom and aunt were busy unloading our stuff!

Ok, we have unloaded everything.

Say cheese...Oic...my father-in-law was busy. LOL :D

We actually prepared a few dishes back at home for our picnic. The only 2 dishes I remembered were the saucy "ponteh" and the delicious "mee hon". :p I can't really recall what's on the menu, but all I know is that the food were really scrumptious. At first both my wife and I had to take turn to enjoy our lunch because we needed to take care of little Jordan. But moments later...Jordan dozed off in his cozy baby car seat. Perhaps...he was too tired or maybe it was because of the weather.

Taiping Lake Garden
Aww...green is everywhere!

Taiping Lake Garden
We have to fan our little Jordan all the time too because it was kinda hot.

Taiping Lake Garden
Do you like being here Jordan? :p

We have been picnicking in Taiping for quite a few times already. But this year, our picnic was different because we joined by our latest recruit-little Jordan. Although little Jordan was asleep most of the time, my father-in-law was still very delighted to see see his grandson by his side during our picnic. Well...next year...he might be running around already. I can't wait!

Taiping Lake Garden
Now let the feast began!

Taiping Lake Garden
Hahahaha :D You see..our little Jordan was asleep already.

Taiping Lake Garden
My wife certainly enjoyed her lunch aye. :p

Taiping Lake Garden
A good time to chit chat while feasting.

Taiping Lake Garden
Wait...wait...almost done now...

Taiping Lake Garden
Buuuurrppp...can you guess what we had?

Taiping is really a good place for family to hang out together, picnic...you know...quality family time. Instead of bringing your little ones to shopping malls, cinemas, restaurants, why don't you bring them here. Almost everywhere in Taiping is covered with lush greeneries. Hills can be seen almost everywhere and if you are attentive, you would have seen the clouds playing on the hills here. You don't need any air conditioner or air purifier while you are here. All you need to do is breath in those fresh air. Aww...

My father-in-law: quenching his thirst.

Taiping Lake Garden
Care for some dessert? How about dragon fruit?

Taiping Lake Garden
No knife, no problemo.

Taiping Lake Garden
My father-in-law skillfully peeled the dragon fruit and sliced it into 4 pieces.

I can't wait for our next visit next year. Although the journey is tiring and time-consuming...but I don't mind at all. I feel very happy to see my wife, my father-in-law and my baby together in our another home. I really, really Taiping. How I wish I can come back more often. I wanna fly kites together with little Jordan and play football with him on the enormous green field with hills as our backdrop overseeing the lake garden. Awww...

Taiping Lake Garden
Next year we will come here again ok Jordan boy?

Taiping Lake Garden
Taiping-You must come to this place. :)
