Yes, beautiful women are absolutely not healthy for men. Gorgeous women can be so hazardous that they might even cause men to die. So the legend claiming women to be life-threatening to men is true! And scientists have proven that this bold proclamation is true. You see a few scientists from the University of Valencia have found that meeting a beautiful women could be bad for your health. Goodness! That dangerous? You have to read the whole post to discover the shocking truth!

The study concluded that just by spending a mere 5 minutes alone with an attractive woman can deteriorate our well being. Why is that? When you spend these 300 seconds (5 minutes) with a drop-dead gorgeous woman on a one-on-one basis, your level of cortisol will skyrocket. When your cortisol aka body's stress hormone shoots up, this spell doom to you. Your poor body will suffer from tremendous stress. Or in other words that particular lady stresses you up!

Cortisol is skyrocketing?

This debilitating effect is further enhanced in men who believed that the woman is "out of their league"! So low self-esteem actually worsens that damage huh! Now let's get back to the root of the problem-cortisol. Do you know that cortisol is linked to heart disease? It is released by our body under physical or psychological stress. Wow! No wonder heart disease is the no.1 killer in Malaysia! :p

These scientists had tested 84 male students by asking each one to sit in a room and solve a Sudoku puzzle. Then there are also two strangers, a male and a female, in the room. When the female stranger left the room and the remaining two men were sitting together, the volunteer's stress level did not rise. However, when the volunteer was left alone with the female stranger, his cortisol levels actually rose. Oic? Why is this so?

This is what the scientists' theory explains, "we considered that for most men the presence of an attractive woman may induced the perception that there is an opportunity for courtship." So these men thought that whenever there is any lady around, it is an opportunity to court the lady? While some men might avoid attractive women since they think they are 'out of their league', the majority of men would respond with apprehension and concurrent hormonal response. In a nutshell, this study showed that male cortisol levels increased after exposure to a five-minute short social interaction with a young, attractive woman. Wow!

Yes! Yes! Cortisol can have a positive effect if it is present in small doses such as improving alertness and well-being. However, major elevated cortisol levels can WORSEN medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and IMPOTENCY! What? That serious? So beware those with the above stated medical conditions. Don't mingle with those beautiful ladies, or you might find yourself end up on the gurney in the ICU! Worse still, you will be dead!
