08-03: I'm sure lots of Malaysians are familiar with 8th of March right? Yeah! The day we were hit by the unexpected political tsunami. It was the day when Barisan National's government stumbled in 5 states 1 year ago! But did you guys know that on the 8th of March each year is also the International Women's Day (IWD)! Yes, IWD is a major day of global celebrations of economic, political and social achievements of women in the past, present and of course future! Women rocks!

Today is the 98th IWD which is celebrated by all women around the world! The maiden IWD was officially started in year 1911! It's been awhile huh! Success of the first International Women's Day in 1911 exceeded all expectation. Meetings were organized everywhere in little towns and even the villages halls were packed so full that all the male workers were asked to forfeit their places for women. Then these men stayed at home with their children for a change, and their wives, the so-called "captive" housewives, went to meetings. Nowadays women are more powerful compared to their "peers" decades ago right?

Ouh...my...will this come true? Ha :)

Originally IWD was celebrated solely for political purposes, but now the day has lost its flavor and became simply an occasion for men to express their love to the women in their lives in a way somewhat similar to Mother's Day and Valentine's Day! That's great right? But I believe we should treat the women in our lives with love and respect every single day! So on this faithful day, everyone especially the men should be grateful to the women in our lives. Are you? I am, truly I am.

I would also like to dedicate this post exclusively to all the women who have sacrificed their whole lives for their families. I also want to take this opportunity to thank my late beloved mum for giving me all she had when she was still alive. My mother had toiled, sweat and bled for this family. She's the Goddess who has lifted my soul times and again! Until today she's still my inspiration! It's a shame that I couldn't repay her. It's shame that many among us did not realize how much the women in our lives has done for us!

To all the mothers (especially single mother) who have been there all this while to shower us with their loves and unconditional supports; to all the wives who has always come around when we are down and get our feet back on the ground; to all the women who has always been faithful and omnipresent when the going gets tough...this post is for you! And to my late grandma, my beloved mother and my one and only dearest wife-You are My Immortals!
