Malaysians will cast their ballots during the 15th General Election on Saturday, the 19th of November 2022. This Malaysian general election is special as those who are 18 and above are now eligible to vote. It is time to support Undi 18-Malaysian youths need to vote for change! Hence, Undi 18-Malaysia Memerlukan Perubahan, is a new non-partisan organization established to encourage more youths, especially those aged 18-30 years old, to exercise their rights as a citizen of Malaysia.

The organisation-Undi 18-Malaysia Memerlukan Perubahan, aims to encourage the young generation in Malaysia to go out and vote for their own future! So far this Undi 18 initiative has already passionately carried out several meaningful activities to empower the youth of Malaysia to cast their ballots.

Among the many activities organized by Undi 18 include flyers distribution, giving talks in schools, sharing information on social media and their official website (www.undi18Malaysia.com), and partnering with other NGOs just to name a few. I must applaud the people behind Undi 18, as they have this burning desire to raise awareness about the importance of voting, more so for first-time eligible, young voters. So kudos to Nur Qyria Yusri (Co-founder of Undi18) and Azfar Heri for their involvement in Undi 18 to encourage youths to do their part for the country by casting their votes!

I am really impressed with Undi 18's proactive initiatives in empowering our Malaysian youths to exercise their right! Do you know that voting is a vital aspect of youth civic engagement? Youths can contribute to the democracy of our country via their votes. It is a powerful opportunity for young Malaysians to make their voices heard and have an impact on issues that affect them and their communities.

Young Malaysians have historically voted at lower rates than older persons in the country. This may be beginning to change in this 15th General Election, thanks to the initiative by Undi 18 movement. It is expected that more Malaysian youths will vote and there will be significant gains in youth voter turnout.

It is time for us Malaysians to cast our votes to choose qualified leaders with integrity to lead our country.
