Recently I witnessed first-hand how Melaka has the potential to be the fashion capital of Malaysia. Yes! I was one of the few lucky attendants for the glamourous EID Mubarak Fashion Show at Ames Hotel Melaka. Sheng Tai International, an award-winning property developer that specialises in property tourism, aims to transform Melaka into the creative and cultural capital of Malaysia, the next Milan, to be more precise.

This was my first time being in a fashion show, and I must say that I was in awe. My jaw dropped, and I was genuinely flabbergasted by the electrifying ambience! I want to Sheng Tai International for inviting me to join their Glitz and Glamour EID Mubarak Prêt-à-Porter Showcase at Ames Hotel. It is not every day one gets to be in the front row of a fashion show, no? For the uninitiated, Prêt-à-Porter refers to ready-to-wear fashion that visitors could purchase and put on the spot.

This by-invitation-only fashion show at the AMES Hotel in Melaka was brought to you by Fashion TV Academy Malaysia. It is the brainchild of Sheng Tai International and Paris-based FashionTV. We were in for an unforgettable treat of glamorous fashion and glitzy catwalks by professional models and renowned designers. It was a spectacle, to say the least!

Transforming Melaka into the Next Milan

Dazzling and unique ready-to-wear Raya outfits from ten local designers were displayed at EID MUBARAK Prêt-à-Porter. In addition to Yan Creations and Kalai, there are several other well-known and internationally acclaimed Malaysian designers such as Amin Jauhary, CARRO, Jayk, Sri Candy, and Suliani. Of course, this Glitz and Glamour EID Mubarak Prêt-à-Porter Showcase at Ames Hotel will not be complete without our very own globally recognised Malaysian designer Bill Keith. Thanks to their creative touches and designs, Raya attire for all body types was available, as well as elegant and fashionable ones.

Dato' Leong Sir Ley, founder and chairman of Sheng Tai International, has stated that they have been aggressively promoting the growth of our local fashion sector since they started their wonderful collaboration with FashionTV from Paris. One of them is EID Mubarak Prêt-à-Porter. This unbelievable fashion show in Melaka has given local designers, models, and make-up artists, as well as the rest of the fashion industry, a stage to show off their work and interact with a larger audience.
