Behold the incredulous Netflix New Balance 550s Sneakers with meteorite fragments! Yes! We are talking about a pair of shoes that will be rolled out by Netflix and New Balance. However, the jaw-dropping detail will be the meteorite fragments that will be "imbued" into the shoes! To be honest, I have never thought that such a shoe can ever exist. This goes to show that anything can happen.

This pair of extra-terrestrial shoes is the collaboration between Netflix and Manchester-based sneaker customizer MattB Customs to mark the advent of Netflix's latest movie-Don't Look Up! Apparently, each pair of shoes will be fitted with Seymchan meteorite that was discovered in the Magadan District of Russia. The meteorite fragments were dated back to 4.5 billion years ago.

The white and grey colourway of New Balance has been added with a total of 34 fragments of the meteorite to form that "N" logo. The inclusion of a metallic lace lock with a latticework design called a “Widmanstätten pattern” that is created as a meteorite cools over millions of years, is also included. The side panels were also adorned with meteorite fragments, giving the pair of sneakers its mind-blowing look!

Apparently, the Seymchan meteorite has been selected for this out-of-this-world collaboration thanks to its similarities to the fictional Dibiasky Comet, which is the mainstay of the movie Don’t Look Up. If you ask me, this pair of shoes is smoking hot. Wearing them makes you feel like you are a space cowboy or sort in your spaceship!

Each pair of this custom-made Netflix new balance 550s will be sold through Sotheby’s “Buy Now” feature on the 17th of December 2021. If you are interested, this pair of shoes clad in "alien" rocks can be yours with a price tag of £10,000 GBP (US$13,199 = RM55,599). I believe it is relatively affordable since part of it is from space, no? The better news is that some of the proceeds from the sale of this pair of "ET"  shoes will be donated to the WWF to help reduce our impact on the environment.
