Cooking Breakfast For Mommy On Mother's Day For The First Time

Children learn to cook on their own mother's day

It is Mother's Day so both our little ones who are no longer that "little" have been given the green light to cook breakfast for their beloved mother. This is the first time in their life, they are allowed to directly cook...or get really mighty close to the electric stove to cook. Yep~they used the spatula and attempted to cook sausages and eggs for their mommy this morning. Their overprotective daddy (me) was initially very worried but soon realized it was the right call.

Make sure they turn "golden brown". 😛

Both Jordan boy and Jasmine girl were really eager to prepare the breakfast on their own with supervision from daddy. After all they had never been given such freedom with a frying pan so this  cooking adventure really intrigued them. First they started off by preparing the sausages, giving them some slices to aid in cooking. After that they melted some butter to usher the sausages. Then they started to fry and "flip" the sausages while being taught about temperature control and cooking their food "evenly".

Sausages, egg and biscuit.

After they were done removing their sausages with tongs, Jordan and Jasmine then started to crack some eggs. It took a bit of mastery as they were supposed to keep everything "intact". Their challenge was to directly crack open the eggs on top of the wok and ensure that no egg shell would end up being "fried' as well. Several attempts were needed to whip out that near-perfect sunny side up egg for their mommy. The results were not bad to say the least (for first timers). LOL 😁

Happy Mother's Day

Last but not least, they served their breakfast for their mommy who had been waiting excitedly for the whole morning to sample this special meal. Complete with fresh milk and a piece of chocolate biscuit, breakfast was served and it was time to dig in. Mommy was clearly very touched and happy with her brekkie together with the hand-made cards and little gift. So Happy Mother's Day and here's to more cooking for the little ones in the future. 😋
