Israel's Somewhere Over The Rainbow...

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high~Do you know this song?I have heard many rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow by many different singers but I have to say this version sang by Israel is the best! No! I am not talking about the Jews who invaded other people land, but the legendary Hawaiian Israel Kamakawiwo'ole aka IZ! If you were to search for Somewhere Over The Rainbow in youtube, IZ's will appear as the top most relevant "rainbow" for you boosting more than 25 millions views so far. Have you heard his version before?

Somewhere Over The Rainbow,Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

Honestly at first I thought Youtube must be crazy showing Israel Kamakawiwo's Somewhere Over The Rainbow to me. I was thinking...can this overweight (no disrespect) chap here sing at all? I was so ashamed of myself when I discovered his song is so soulful. With his Ukule, IZ belts out this song so harmonious. I mean simply by listening to this song, you will "lighted" and feel relaxed. Every time I tune to this Somewhere Over The Rainbow...I can really feel the song you know...

Somewhere Over The Rainbow,Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
Somewhere over this rainbow...what can we see?

However I was really sad to found out that this talented soulful IZ is no longer dwelling on our earth anymore. This Hawaiian legend passed away in 1997 due to weight-related respiratory illness. It's such a shame that such a talented heartfelt singer like IZ had to leave so early. You can see how important is IZ in the (following) Youtube video where his people sort of gave him a grand sent off in the middle of the ocean. I think he must be somewhere over the rainbow looking over them right now...

Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole-Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby ii ii iii
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Dreams really do come true ooh ooooh
Someday I'll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me ee ee eeh
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops thats where you'll find me oh
Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
And the dream that you dare to,why, oh why can't I? i iiii

Aww...I can't stop listening to this song over and over again. I feel like I am somewhere over the rainbow while listening to his song. I feel so peaceful when I listen to his Zen-like. Do you feel the same too? Do you like his rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow? Who's rendition do you like the most folks? :)
