Honor Pad X7b Malaysia price starts at RM699, offering a 9.7-inch 2K display, Snapdragon 685 processor, 90Hz refresh rate and huge battery.

Need a tablet for films, online classes, casual gaming and everyday tasks, without spending a fortune? Honor’s latest budget-friendly offering could be just what you’re looking for. The new Honor Pad X7b combines a large, sharp display with a long-lasting battery and expandable storage, making it an appealing choice for both entertainment and productivity.

Honor Pad X7b arrives in Malaysia

The Honor Pad X7b has officially landed in Malaysia, bringing a 9.7-inch 2K display, a 90Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 685 performance and an 8,000mAh battery. Even better, prices start at RM699.

There are two versions to choose from: Wi-Fi and LTE.

Malaysia pricing and free gift

The Honor Pad X7b is available in a single configuration with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It comes in Space Gray, giving it a simple and understated look.

Here’s the pricing:

• Honor Pad X7b Wi-Fi: RM699
• Honor Pad X7b LTE: RM799

Honor is also throwing in a free Honor Pad X7b Flip Cover worth RM159 (Wow! 😱). That’s a useful extra, especially if you plan to carry the tablet around or hand it to the kids.

The tablet is available from Honor Malaysia’s official website, Shopee and Lazada.

A sharp 2K screen for movies, reading and more

The star of the show is the 9.7-inch IPS LCD display. It has a 2052 × 1152 resolution, which should make films, comics, photos and everyday apps look crisp and detailed. The screen also supports a 90Hz refresh rate. In simple terms, scrolling through webpages and social media should feel smoother than it would on a regular 60Hz display.

With brightness reaching up to 500 nits, the display should be comfortable for indoor use and usable in brighter surroundings. The tablet itself is built from a single piece of aluminium alloy. It measures 8.48mm thick and weighs 447g, so it should be fairly easy to hold during a long Netflix session.

Snapdragon 685 power and plenty of storage

Under the hood, the Honor Pad X7b uses Qualcomm’s 6nm Snapdragon 685 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM. Need a little more breathing room when switching between apps? Honor’s RAM Turbo feature can provide up to another 4GB of virtual RAM.

Storage shouldn’t be a headache either. The tablet comes with 128GB of built-in storage, and you can add a microSD card (Thank God! 😅) with support for up to 2TB of additional space. That’s enough room for downloaded shows, schoolwork, photos, documents and a sizeable collection of games.

Wi-Fi or LTE? You get to choose

The Wi-Fi version supports Wi-Fi 5, while both models include Bluetooth 5.0. The LTE model costs RM100 more, but gives you mobile connectivity when you’re away from home. That could be handy for students, commuters or anyone who doesn’t want to keep reaching for their phone’s hotspot.

Designed with children in mind

The Honor Pad X7b isn’t only aimed at adults. It also comes with Honor Kids Space, which includes child-friendly tools such as:

• Kids Camera
• Kids Canvas
• Kids Recorder

Parents get access to a four-level control system for managing screen time, restricting apps and filtering content.

The tablet can also issue warnings when it detects certain viewing habits, including:

• Holding the screen too close
• Using the tablet while lying flat
• Sitting in unsuitable lighting
• Using the tablet inside a moving vehicle

So, if your child gets a little too comfortable with their nose practically touching the screen, the tablet may have something to say about it.

Big 8,000mAh battery

The Honor Pad X7b packs an 8,000mAh battery, which is one of its biggest selling points. Honor claims the tablet can deliver up to 16 hours of video playback. Actual battery life will depend on factors such as screen brightness, mobile connectivity and the apps you use, but the large battery should help reduce the number of trips to the charger.

The tablet runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16 straight out of the box.
