Of Octoberfest & How We Get Tipsy?

Every beer-philic would have known this festival-Octoberfest. As the name suggest this festival is celebrated in October. But to be more precise it is a sixteen-day festival held each year in Munich, Bavaria, Germany during late September (and running to early October). But today is probably the last day of this unique festival. So if you are freaking thirsty about beer-take a private jet and see if you can nick it. Octoberfest is one of the most famous events in Munich and the world's largest fair, with some six million people attending every year, and is an enjoyable event with an important part of Bavarian culture.

And guess what they served during this festival? No. Not your normal Carlsberg or Heineken. They serve Oktoberfestbier. What on earth is that? Well these Oktoberfestbiers are the beers that have been served at the event in Munich since 1818, and are supplied by 6 breweries known as the Big Six: Spaten, Löwenbräu, Augustiner, Hofbräu, Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr. Now you know right? I don't think you guys can get these in Malaysia right?

She's strong huh!

So how do we get that tipsy feeling when we enjoy our beer? I'm sure that's one of the main reasons why millions enjoy consuming alcohol right? Besides trying to look cool or macho, people gulp/sup alcoholic drinks simply to escape from themselves; they are trying to take their minds off what's bothering them...they want to get a little high and fly from their worries. Likewise the superiors would argue that consuming alcoholic drinks is an art and has beneficial effects for our health. They are correct too. But no one can deny that we love that tipsy feeling when enjoying alcohol right? Here's how we reach that stage of tipsy...

Ready to get tipsy?

Road To Tipsy...

1~Alcohol is ingested.
2~Then it'll travel swiftly through the bloodstream to the brain.
3~Alcohol will then make contact with several receptors in our brain.
4~These receptors release molecules that excite the cells of the brain aka neurons.
5~This results in symptoms of muscular incoordination, euphoria and mild cognitive impairment.
6~Voila, we get tipsy!

But do notice that tipsy=slightly drunk. Hence if you gulped down too much of those beers, then you wouldn't get to enjoy that tipsy feeling anymore. If you know that you are not very alcohol-tolerant, drink bit by bit. Anyway enjoy guzzling your beers ok. *wink* ;)

This is what happened when you are not tipsy...
You are drunk...

P.S.: Tekkaus does not condone drink and drive. And don't get too drunk for you'll never know what will happen next!
